Studio Introductions: Beth

If you’ve ever contacted us at all, chances are you’ve spoken with Beth. Beth is our Admin Queen and handles all of our customers. We rescued her from a third shift desk job at a hotel. She gives pricing for custom orders, answers customer questions, and basically is the communications conduit between customers and production.

When she’s not wrangling customers, Beth is the owner/administrator of a Minecraft server. She enjoys kids’ movies and listen to metal, is currently working her way through Arrow, and spends most of her free time on YouTube.

Studio Introductions: Pat

Pat is a former vet tech and dog trainer whom Gena sucked out of her comfortable retirement to come work part time in the studio. Pat is in charge of shipping and putting orders together and is the source of a lot of the crazy here.

She’s an avid reader and when not reading, spends a lot of time participating in various dog groups online. Her Doberman, Jeep, is friends with Remi and Gypsy and will visit for play dates when the weather’s decent. Pat frequently has to scold her husband for feeding Jeep things he can’t eat; he’s allergic to chicken. Having been trained by her own small dog, Pat is highly susceptible being “cuted” by Boo. As a result, Boo, frequently “cutes” her into doing her will.

Studio Introductions: Duncan

The youngest member of our merry band, Duncan runs on coffee, sarcasm, and movie quotes. He keeps track of all of our inventory (it’s a lot, trust me) in addition to helping with shipping and printing orders. 

He’s an out-of-the-box thinker, avid animal lover (he’s constantly trying to sneak good pics of Boo), and a huge fan of the Welcome to Night Vale podcast and Doctor Who. If you ever play a round of Cards Against Humanities with him, you’ll definitely be surprised.

Studio Introductions: Jennie

Next on our Intro list, which isn’t in any particular order, is Jennie! She escaped Target last September and originally joined our merry little band to post listings on Moonkist Gallery. However, as the holidays started looming, she took over the antiquing so that I could work on making orders and decided that she quite liked being in production, thank you. So now she’s a production monkey-in-training! For the moment she’s also pulling double-duty continuing to work on listings.

Jennie has two dogs, both of which are adorably sweet pit bulls, and enjoys listening to audio books while she’s working (currently she’s listening to the King and Maxwell series by David Baldacci).

Studio Introductions: Kira

It’s your friendly neighborhood studio tumblr moderator! No, really, I’m the one in charge of this particular little corner of our studio doings, with input from everyone else, obviously.

My primary function here at Moonkist Designs is as a production monkey, which means I make a lot of the jewelry we sell. I’m still sort of in training for some things, but I’m making progress and this means that a lot of the tips and tricks related posts I’ll be doing will be from my perspective. I also fill in over in Admin periodically.

I moved down to South Carolina from Ohio in November of 2015 and it’s been a slight culture shock. But I’m enjoying it down here so far (there’s mountains!) and I’m really enjoying working in the studio. My absolute favorite description of what I do for a living is “forcibly arguing with metal until it looks pretty.” It’s a fairly apt description.

Studio Introductions: Gena

Moonkist Designs is Gena’s brain-child and therefore it’s appropriate that we start off the introductions with her.

Gena is a self-described jewelry artist and metal addict who has been working with jewelry in some form or another for most of her life. She has a rather interesting repertoire of occupations and her stories from some of these are highly entertaining. HIGHLY. She started Moonkist Designs in 2008 as a sort of side-business while working a full-time job as a personal assistant. By 2014, her little side-business had grown enough that she was able to leave her job as a PA and run Moonkist Designs full-time.
