Studio Nucleo’s Presenze
Presenze is a collection of furniture denoting an evidence of past lives; looking like ethereal pieces. Chairs and tables glowing in opaque colors are created in a pixilated form; looking as if they were graphically distorted in an actual 3D world. The whole set was inspired from the glories of the 19th century Baroque structures, redesigned into contemporary, minimalistic shapes. The main material, resin, provides the haunting glow of gradient within each pixel, making each object interestingly whimsical. Starting a new approach when it comes to furniture making, Nucleo Studio breathes in ethereal air into objects and makes them look like floating through space. It indulges in a game of presence and absence; of lightness and heaviness, and challenges new means of artful creations into modern times. The silkiness of the material allows the light to come through; a fascinating form of assemblage for a one of a kind collection. Nucleo Studio is a collective of three collaborative artists and was formed in Turin, Italy in 1997. It intends to become an interdisciplinary team that works on different ranges of art, design and architecture. Its works has been exhibited all over the world, including MoMa in New York, Triennale Design Museum in Milan, and Beaubourg in Paris. See this collection at http://nucleo.to/site/?p=4962.
Presenze Bronze Chair
Nucleo has created decorative ethereal objects floating through space. And the lack of assemblage is one of the strong characteristics of Presenze. Each cube, a fragment, giving a sense to the deconstruction. The cubes are cast in bronze and together create the object.
