the basement of the AUT WW building - to be a space for reflection - a space for students to see and reflect on the problems, stresses and anxieties that are hidden in their subconscious.
rain water acts as a mirror and a shelter- so students can look and reflect, meditate, and relax.
the rain feature emphasises a shelter, where one can be comforted by the soundscape, visual downfall and atmosphere. the mossy fields in the middle of the installation soften the space, brings the space into the earth (while collecting and filtering water) - while also acting as soft hills for visitors to sit in the rain if they choose.
water is reflective, physically and metaphysically. im wanting to design a safe space with such, for student/visitors to reflect on their hidden reflections.
