Drawing inspiration from bridges, rigging equipment and the classic director’s chair, the Catenary Bar Stool is about intended contrasts: thick versus thin lines, soft and hard edges and heavy and weightless proportions. The combination of these seemingly dissimilar characteristics aims at continuity and the tension between these parts carries a peaceful pose. Carefully tailored to its intended function the Catenary Bar Stool is equally suited for commercial or residential interiors. Comfortable, durable and visually profound, the Catenary Bar Stool is designed, developed and handcrafted in Brooklyn, NY from partially recycled steel, rift white oak, leather and ballistic nylon.
