Recap of My 1st Month Abroad
I've been in Hong Kong for exactly one month now (:
It's been a really eye opening experience so far. Not only have I been learning to adapt to HK culture, but I've been meeting so many other students from all over the world. It's pretty fun learning new slang words from different countries and also teaching people Bay slang as well.
"What's a ratchet, and why does everyone always say 'thirsty'?! And what's a chipotle? Is it like chips and chocolate?!" HAHAH, omggg I dieeeee !
The only major thing thats been stressing me out a lot here is how people can be so RUDE. Everyone's always in such a rush that they will literally push and shove you out of the way so they can pay for their things first, get onto the train before you, or let doors slam in your face because they can't afford to take the extra 2 seconds to be kind and courteous human beings.
Like seriously, the other day when I was taking the MTR, a lady literally SHOVED her suitcase in front of me while I was exiting the train, just so she could slip in front and get off before me .. T___T Like was that really necessary?! YOU CAN'T WAIT THE EXTRA .5 SECOND FOR ME TO GET OFF FIRST?!!! AGHHH!
But I guess on the brighter side, I did also witness my first ever MTR fight, and it totally made my friends and I's night, HAHAH. For those of you who may not know, Hong Kong citizens lately have been really into recording public arguments and fights and then posting them onto the internet. (Kinda like WorldStar)
I also realized a lot of girls here don't go to the gym. My roommate says that girls here would rather skip meals than exercise to "stay fit."
Okayyy, I should probably go to sleep (:
