Feeling insane 99% of the time because I can READ the word, but I don’t know what the word means

I’ve studied two Romance languages who are very tightly related to Italian, yet I do not know Italian. Thus I now know what it’d feel like to suddenly forget a language you once knew

hi tumblr folks, i need ur help…i’m interested in learning languages and i do know a handful so far but because i’m not using them in everyday conversation i want to get back to a language learning ab that will at least motivate me everyday to not lose my studying streak BUT the problem is, most language learning apps use AI now and i’m sooo pissed by it so if any of you know/use any apps that aren’t using AI, i’d appreciate it!

p. s. i need it predominantly for german, spanish, french and russian

is there a word equivalent to "chimera" in other languages; specifically with the definition: "a thing which is hoped for but is illusory or impossible to achieve"? (i'm not proficient enough in other languages to answer my own question.) I'm just surprised to see this term used in translations of early epistemology or metaphysics, it's interesting to see which western philosophy papers are working from a basis of myths.

I love the day before an important exam because I'm just spiralling and will have 3 emotional breakdowns before its even noon.

My problem is that it does not matter how much I've studied before, once I sit in the exam room I always feel like I'm not prepared enough and have not studied enough and I'm always right with that unfortunately.
