Meet Muhammad Dilshad Wagi from Pakistan! As a master program’s graduate he and all other master students obtaining a diploma at #LiepU can request for 9 extra months stay with the residence permission in EU! Our graduates quite often use this period for their #Erasmus after graduation internship with a scholarship!

I just have completed my post graduate degree from Liepaja University. I'm happy to have it. 1st of all I would like to say thank you to all faculty members for cooperation with us during our studies. Special thank you to International relations department, they really cooperate when we need assistance. I would like to recommend to Asian students to come for studies at Liepaja University because of the climate at Liepaja; Latvia has a beautiful nature too. I love Liepaja and I will really miss it! What we learn with pleasure we never forget...

Greetings from Tayyab Raza Kahlon from Pakistan ! Tayyab shares his testimony about hist studies at LiepU:

Learning and getting my degree from Liepaja University is something I consider as a big opportunity for me. The faculty staff at Liepaja University is really helpful. They are giving their all while teaching their students. The knowledge I got from my teachers was exceptional. Apart from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, at the International relations department are amazing people too. They treat you as their own. If you get confused, they are always there to guide you to the right path. 

My four years in Liepaja University were full of memories, fun, sometimes worries of home works and assignments and of course, full of joy and excitement of new things and challenges. About my thesis topic, I developed the chatbot for admission queries. My research was about chatbots and how they work. I did it with my supervisor Dzintars Tomsons who is also the director of IT study program in #LiepU. He was helpful throughout my thesis and research. With his help I finished my research and defended my thesis.

Thank you, LiepU International relations department and Faculty of Science and Engineering for such a great and memorable journey!

My studies at Liepaja University are a journey that I am glad to have taken. It is a journey full of expectations and natural wonders. Just like any journey it comes with its own challenges, but those challenges are the ones that made it worth taking.The professors, faculty members and staff are most supportive of my studies and guided me on the proper path of learning. They are here all the way to help us to meet the challenges that we face. 

They assisted me in availing ERASMUS program scholarship that help me fund my internship in Spain.My Internship in  is another memory worth remembering. I enjoyed my stay in Valencia. It gave a glimpse of the current working condition that I should be expecting in the job industry and prepare me for the tasks. My internship experience also provided me with the idea for my thesis  and it made the implementation easier.

After overcoming the challenges and tests, I managed to finish my studies. I am sure my experience in Liepaja University will be helpful in my future endeavors!

#LiepUGraduate2021 - meet and greet Nabeel Munir from Pakistan!  He is one of the recent #LiepU graduates! Read his thoughts about study process, his mobilities abroad and more: Choosing Liepaja University and Liepāja city in general was a best decision I made and the reasons are following: 1) When I first came here, I was not sure if this is the place where I can work on my goals and achieve them. But, after coming to LiepU and studying here, I started to realize that I will have a lot of great opportunities here. 2) LiepU offers a great number of opportunities to students to work on their skills, for example, there are programming competitions held in LiepU where students can showcase their skills and win prizes and get in touch with professional companies. 3) Another great opportunity that Liepaja university offers is Erasmus scholarships. It is more like a mind opening and life changing opportunity. You can have a study semester or internship in a different university or a company in Europe, study in a new environment, learn about a different culture and learn from different people. 4) LiepU provides a great study environment in a peaceful city of Liepaja. You can go anywhere, on the beach, in the park with your book or laptop, enjoy the nature and study with it. 5) Teachers at LiepU are really motivating and helping the students to grow more and to learn more. They are always there to help. Even after the university hours, if you email or text them, they will answer your doubts. All you must do is to reach out to them and they are ready to help you out to get out of a situation that you think is not possible. Teachers are like: "Hey, don't you dare to give up!". I love and recommend #Liepaja for the following reasons: 1) It is a beautiful and small city. What's interesting about this city is that, despite being a small city, it has a lot of leisure activities to offer. 2) The city is peaceful and full of nature. 3) Despite being peaceful, I never felt insecure in Liepaja. It is a secure city. You can have a walk at night and no one will hurt you. With all that said, I loved my studies and my stay in Liepaja University and Liepaja respectively and would 100% recommend anyone who wishes to be here for studies or for travelling in general! Maria Krajewska is 1st year “European Language and Culture Studies” student at Liepaja University. She has chosen to study Latvian as her foreign language. Maria shares her impressions on studies online, how easy or difficult is to study a new language from the beginning and why she suggests this study program to other students.

My studies are going very well. I have been enjoying them very much even though they are completely different than what I imagined my first semester of university would be like. Despite that, I am still trying to make the best of it and working on my self-motivation to get everything done and to have fun. I have also found time to explore some of my interests and hobbies in the meantime to get myself away from the computer when I don’t have classes as sitting in front of a computer for a long time can get tiring. My one problem is that I cannot make friends with other students but I hope I can change this when I move to Liepaja. I really enjoy studying Latvian as a second language. I have already learned five languages in my life and Latvian is very different from all of them. It is fascinating to me how unique Latvian is compared to other European languages which I had contact with in my life in places where I have lived. I have been wanting to study Latvian for years now and I am happy that I am finally getting the chance to learn it! For me, the hardest part of learning Latvian as a foreign language is the memorizing declinations and conjugations of words. Nevertheless, I see it as an interesting challenge that I am trying to take on to the best of my abilities. All of my professors are very professional and kind to me. They are very fast to answer any inquiries I send to them which has really helped me deepen my understanding of topics that we discuss during our lectures. I am very lucky to have such professors because I can see that I am already improving my Latvian. Even if I make a mistake, they are always there to explain to me how to fix it and suggest options for improvement. I am very happy with my experience at Liepaja University. For many years now I wanted to study Latvian and searched for the right place. I know I made the right choice and cannot wait to finally come to Liepaja soon!

Why Liepaja has a potential to become a student city?

We asked this question to Arminas, exchange student from the Lithuanian Business University of Applied Sciences in Klaipeda!

When I first came to LiepU, I immediately felt that warmth. Inside the university there's plenty of space to work and study, to take a break, to have fun. There's literally everything in this university that you'll ever need, advanced technologies, modern study programs etc. Staff and teachers are always happy to help, to explain and to talk. 

And the beach... The most amazing place in Liepaja, if you're tired of studying at home or university, you can always go to the beach and take a deep breath, the view is going to relax you immediately. 

Liepaja has wonderful restaurants with good food serving and the prices are affordable. If you are a gym guy or girl, Liepaja can offer you variety of different sports clubs. Liepaja is the city for calm and silent studies, come here to study and leave parties behind you, you won't regret it. 

LiepU is the perfect place to study, to find yourself and increase your knowledge and communication skills. Stop thinking, start doing!

Liepāja is not perfect, but it has a charm! As a proof, let us share with you some beautiful photos of Karosta bridge and seaside! This iconic metal bridge, whose design was supposedly based on a sketch by Gustave Eiffel, was opened in 1906. The bridge has been damaged a number of times over the years. The technical marvel is still in operation to this day and opens up at scheduled times throughout the day and night to allow ships to pass.
