I’m back!

It’s been a great few months in Japan, but time to return to reality. I’ll be back to studying next week, so I’d like to take advantage of this week to get this blog started back up. It’s been a bit lonely lately!

The new messaging system

Hello muses ^_^

In light of the recent updates (no more replies, new messaging system) I’d just like to clarify how I will treat different kinds of messages from now on. 

If you send a message to my ask box (without specifically stating otherwise) I will assume you are happy for me to publicly answer that message, i.e. publish my answer. I love these kinds of messages, because often there are so many other people sharing your struggle but who are too afraid to ask themselves, and who might find resources in my answer and/or strength from your message in realising they are not alone. 

If you send me a message via the new IM system, I will assume you’d like me to answer privately. If you just want to talk to me, please IM me at my personal account (khaleeesii) so I can keep study Qs and general chats separate. 

If replies make a comeback, as staff seem to be saying they will, I will treat all replies as public and will answer them publicly. 

I hope this all makes sense! Happy messaging :)

P.S. My exams are finishing up next week, so after that I will be responding to lots of messages! Please forgive my slow responses at the moment >.<

Just a quick message to apologise for my lack of posts and answered inboxes lately! I’ve been really busy studying for my exams, which tbh aren’t going that well, so I’ve only had minimal time to keep updating this blog. My exams continue until the 25th of June :’( so I promise to do my best, but my normal blogging probably won’t resume until after then. Thanks for understanding <3

Something is Always Better than Nothing

Friday, 21st May:

I’ve skipped all my bio classes this week, have no idea what we’re talking about, and have an online quiz on all of it due at 5pm - the tempting thing is to just forget about it. Why waste my time? It’s going to suck anyway. 

And that’s true - it is going to suck. (It did suck.)

But statistically, I should get a few marks in a 20 question multiple-choice quiz, and even 2 or 3 marks is better than no marks at all, so I’m going to do it anyway.

Wednesday, 27th May:

I did the quiz, and just got my results back - 8/30 points. Pretty crap. But that’s 8 more marks that I wouldn't have had otherwise! That’s me creeping up the percentage ladder on my final score! 

The lesson here is to always do your quizzes/tests/assignments/etc., no matter how woefully unprepared you are. It’s always better to try and scrape a few marks rather than to just let it go and automatically get a 0. An extra few percent has saved my ass more times than I can count, so just because you’re behind (or lazy), there is NO excuse not to give it a go anyway. NEVER GIVE UP!
