Books I am currently reading:   Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Welp, here’s the thing about that...  I used to read books?  Now I just read fic.   I’m not even ashamed.  The amazing writers in this fandom are better than pretty much anything I’ve read with a binding and dustjacket.  I would rather sit down with a good @dresupi, or @amidtheflowers, or @anniemar than anything from my local library.  For reals.  The writers in Darcyland outshine pretty much anything published I’ve read with their imagination, relationship building, plot, and realistic smutty stuff. We’ve just got a hella talented fandom here.  <3

Okay, so five nice things…  Hmmmmmm…

1. I make damn fine GF brownies that you can’t even tell are GF.  And for those of you who are skeptical, come over.  I will make them for you. Prepare to be stunned and amazed.

2. I’m working hard to raise my kiddos to be decent human beings, who respect and love everyone equally.

3. I didn’t vote for a psychotic, bloated pumpkin in a toupée.  (Also, I googled that word to see where the accent went, and GUESS WHO POPS UP IN THE GOOGLE IMAGES IMMEDIATELY?  HAHAHAHAHA!  Made my day.)

4. I will very bravely not run away when I see a spider on the wall anymore.  (caveat: This is only so that I know where the damn thing is, so I can show my husband when he comes to rescue me.  It’s not really brave.  I just know it’s worse NOT knowing where the spider is, than knowing.  And then I will dance up and down screeching, “Don’t kill it, don’t kill it!  Just put it outside,” while he sighs in annoyance.  Still an improvement over me shrieking in terror and considering burning the house down, so I’m listing it.)

5. I will rescue any animal in need, I don’t care how many teeth it has.  Or scales…or like…wing flaps, because one time I saved a flying squirrel that came down the chimney and was terrorizing my cat.  And as you can see from number 4, I even stand up for spiders despite the fact that I’m pretty sure they have been trying to murder me since birth.  Not wasps, though.  Not them. Wasps can go fuck themselves.  They know why.

Personal stuff

Hey guys.  I’ve been thinking about making a post about this for a while, and I finally settled on what I wanted to say.  So, yep.  Here’s the post. :)

The past couple months have been super lame for me, and I kinda did some hibernating on tumblr/ao3 because of it.  My head was in a bad place, and the muse was shaky.  I never knew when it would show up.  This meant I wrote as much as I could when it was there, and then waited out the times when it wasn’t.  Finally I decided to give everything a rest, and took a little break from stuff for a while. (including tumblr for the most part)  I don’t usually announce when I’m taking a break for my own sanity, I just do it. That’s what I did this last time too.

Basically, I haven’t really been on here much recently.  I know people tagged me in things while I wasn’t in a place where I could respond.  I am so sorry about my lack of response.  Just know that I saw people were tagging me, and that it made me smile, and I appreciated every single time I was tagged.  The same goes for comments on my fics.  I usually try to respond to every comment, but when I’m in hibernation mode all that grinds to a halt.  If you reviewed, and I did not respond, just know I am grateful for every kind word.  Thank you so much.

In happy news, I’m feeling A LOT better.  The muse is back, the hibernating is over, and I’m mentally engaged again.  It’s awesomesauce.   

So, yep.  That’s pretty much all I wanted to say.  My brain was acting like an assbutt, but I’m better now, and I love you guys forever. Thanks for being patient with me while I worked stuff out.

Lavender & Lace :)

Lavendar: Name something that relaxes you.  I’m gonna say tuning everything out and listening to music, reading.  Both things make me pretty chill.  :)

Lace: Your favorite things to wear?  Dresses.  I’m girlie AF, and have a collection of vintage 50s day dresses that I wear a lot.

Roots: How do you ground yourself or recharge?  I listen to one of my favorite playlists with headphones on.  It lets me tune everything else out.  I also work in my garden, or read one of my fave books/fic.  Anything that makes the rest of the world disappear. 

Rainstorms: What helps you fall asleep?  Snuggling my kids will totally make me sleepy.  We actually nicknamed my five year old ‘Cozy’ when she was a baby, because she’s so warm and cuddly when she’s tired that it makes the people around her sleepy too.  (I swear she has magic sleep powers like some kind of Pokemon) People who know me know that if I say I’m getting my kids to bed, it usually means I’m done for the night.  We read a book, snuggle, and all I want to do is go to bed after that.

Incense and Blue Hair Dye

Incense: List your three favorite scents.  I LOVE this question.  The vanilla and lavender shampoo my kids use (’cause it smells like my babies), lime zest (I don’t know if you ever zested a lime, but OMG, it makes the entire kitchen smell AMAZING), and the boardwalk/sunscreen/ocean smell of the beach.  I love that.

Blue hair dye:  One thing you like about your appearance?  I’m laughing because we both know I just dyed my hair blue, and I Iove it. ;)  Ummmm, other than that I kind of like everything.  I’m happy with me.  I might be happier with me after I lose the weight I gained when I was stuck on bed rest for three months, but whatever.  I’m still pretty awesome.

Vinyl: What is some of your favorite music?  I’m kinda all over the spectrum, but according to Spotify I’m a big indie pop/indie folk fan.  (because that’s what it’s always putting in my weekly suggested playlist thing)  It’s probably right.  ;)

Dragons: What makes you feel powerful, what breathes life into you?  Oooh, this is a great one.  I’m going to say it’s doing what’s right for me, and not worrying about what other people think of my decisions.  That took me a long time to learn.  (I might still be learning it, actually)  But I was raised in a really conservative family, and finally having the courage to step back and say, “Hey,  that’s not who I am, and I’m not going to hide it anymore, and I’m not raising my family like that either,” was a really big step for me.

Soup: Comfort food?  Green curry.  I would eat it in a box, I would eat it with a fox.  It’s the flipping best, and I love it.
