Aren’t these irises absolutely stunning? The dark, velvety, royal purple color is so saturated that it almost looks like black! I haven’t seen many irises blooming in Austin this spring except one prolific display of white irises surrounding an old cottage. Nonetheless, I would assume that they should do well here in Austin. Can my followers from Texas please chime in and let me know about your experience with growing irises in this climate? I am thinking about ordering a few irises and plant them to hopefully get some blooms this autumn. Many of the newer iris varieties have the ability to rebloom and I intend to take full advantage of that. The photo was taken an England. And no, in case you wonder, I don’t know the name of this spectacular iris variety. Wishing all of you a lovely Sunday! . . . #iris #irises #flower #flowers #purple #purpleiris #purpleirises #stunning #stunningirises #texas #centraltexasgardening #centraltexasgardener #austin #gardening #garden #gardens (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA2tfVcgBRZ/?igshid=64kukqyjqjjp
