This was the last place he wanted to end up. He'd sent Clary through previously in the hopes she could figure out the answers to the questions she couldn't get in their own realm. Being there himself it was strange. There was no shadow world, no shadowhunters, no downworlders, no nothing. What made it even more strange was the fact he'd managed to find himself in this new realm. It was odd seeing himself with the runes he'd grown so used to seeing. Did this version of himself even know Alec? Had they grown up together? There were just so many questions he wanted to ask and a part of him wondered if it would be awkward for him to start asking himself those questions. Jace wasn't even certain the other was comfortable with him being there. If he hadn't known about the shadow world he might've reacted the same way. Though, he wouldn't have moved the way he had. He knew they weren't mirrors, that they were both literally there in the same spot and that he could easily leave if that's what the other wanted. But what if he didn't? What if the other was just as curious about all of this as he was? The only way to find out was to talk with him. "I think you know who I am, Jonathan," he told the other, leaning back into his chair. "Or are you like me and prefer Jace?" He'd always hated Jonathan; to the point he ignored people who actually called him that. This version of him, though, he didn't know about. For all he knew he preferred his given name. And for all he knew his brother, Sebastian didn't even exist in this realm. It was probably for the best that no one knew about him. They had enough problems as it was without adding one more to it. "And I'm not going to hurt you if tha's what you're worried about." That wasn't who he was and it wasn't in his nature. But how to get that across to this other version of himself? "You met someone from my realm. Clary Fray? Seems like she might have left something behind so here I am."
