Okay so let's say that Freddie doesn't exist, how is this going to continue? How is the child of a celebrity going to be forgotten. Even if they set up a fake paternity test and say Louis isn't the father Briana is now quite well known. There is no way that if this is a fake baby they can keep it up and it's fairly obvious so clearly they wouldn't have started in the first place. You cannot fake the existence of a human being and there is no reason to do it anyway.
Well, in theory, this could end in 2 ways. One being a paternity denial and the other being a full exposure. For a variety of different reasons, though, I’m leaning more to the exposure at this point.
As for Briana, sure she has become somewhat known by now. However, my guess is that when her direct ties to Louis have been cut she will eventually fade away. Even if she doesn’t, I doubt she will be much of a problem.
I agree, that they can’t keep it up if this baby is indeed fake. It does seem to be on it’s final leg by now too. However, saying that they wouldn’t have started a stunt like this in the first place if it was bound to end as well as saying they have no reason to pull a stunt like this is not something I will agree on.
The three main reasons people believe they started this stunt are: closeting, publicity and sabotage.
It’s no secret to anyone that Louis has been rumored to be gay and to be in a relationship with Harry since pretty much the beginning. This pregnancy supposedly happened two months after the breakup with Eleanor and, given the case that Larry is real, was constructed to further hammer a significant nail in the iron closet he was pushed into. There have been multiple instances over the years of people in the entertainment industry being forced to marry someone or have children in order to hide their sexuality. While it is very much illegal in the UK, it continues to happen and wouldn’t be anything new.
As for publicity, I believe the news of the pregnancy first broke on July 14th. Drag Me Down dropped in the middle of the night on July 31st and the pregnancy was confirmed on Good Morning America on August 4th. Moreover, I believe there were rumors going around (as well as an article being published to later be deleted) about Briana giving birth back in November and as you’ll probably know Made in the A.M. was released on November 13th.
Finally, sabotage. Over the past year - pretty much since the Elounor breakup - Louis’ image has been dragged through the dirt by the media. The media has been relentless despite him not being part of any major scandal (this started even before pregnancy rumors). Around this time, their label would have known that the boys were strongly considering (or had already decided) on not resigning once their contract ended this year. Made In The A.M. was poorly (and barely, in comparison to the other albums) promoted and stories have been reported since this time last year - about all four guys as well as the band as a whole - that worked to try and sabotage their careers (see for example Niall being accused of taking hardcore drugs back in August - something that was only cleared up a few weeks ago). It is seen before with artists who’ve worked with Syco and/or Sony that once they try to leave the companies, they have tried to sabotage their careers and chances of making it once they are free from the contract (e.g. Michael Jackson - just to mention a very well-known case). Moreover, it is believed that Louis was possibly the one of the guys who started the chorus of ‘no’s in terms of resigning with Syco and Modest which would explain why they went hardest on him. He’s also, in many ways, seemed to be the one who’s had the hardest time following their rules over the years and has seemingly been the most rebellious one.
(and sidenote: faking existences happen and are a thing. Just like faking one’s death happens and is a thing. It wouldn’t be the first time)
