It would be illogical of me to think that dad being here would have averted the falling out I just had with the rest of my family, but damn if I don’t miss him right now.
as always this fighting is stupid
im sad so im going to watch the office and eat pizza
"Common Sense Dosn't Exist"
God fuck this is the one BIG reason I fight with my dad. His argument that "Common sense doesn't exist." Lets start from the beginning of this story.
We decide that we are going to have pizza tonight. Texting my dad, we decide on toppings. He sends me a text saying "1 pepperoni (pizza) I guess for Tara, and the other one, I don't want olives but I'll take anything else and I want a bit of greens on it."
I responded "How about pepperoni, cheese, ham, green peppers, onions, mushrooms and hot peppers on half?"
He said it sounded good. Me, thinking my dad is at work or on the road still, asks if I should call the store right away to place the order.
And this is where things get fucked up.
He replies "Yes, I'm in front of the store now."
Now stop for a second, lets talk about that sentence. Yes, he responded with a "Yes", but here is the catch. He says he is right in front of the fucking store.
Apparently this is where I lack common sense because I think "Oh, if he is in front of the store, he can just walk in and place the order himself." But no, I respond to that last text with "You don't need me to call in then?"
And he says "No, call in right now. What didn't you understand about that last text?"
Not wanting to argue, I call in and place the order.
When he gets home with the pizza, he askes again what I didn't understand about the text. I asked him why he couldn't just walk in and order the pizza himself. He said "Because you knew the order."
...
OH! DO YOU MEAN THE ORDER THAT WE FUCKING TEXT TO EACHOTHER!? THE ONE THAT WAS WRITTEN DOWN RIGHT ON YOUR PHONE IN PLAIN FUCKING ENGLISH?!
Oh, but what am I thinking?! He replied "Yes" To that text about calling in for the pizza.
Common sense must not be that common. Cause if I was in his situation, parked in front of a restaurant I'm about to get food from, I would think "Okay, I have the order here on my phone, I'll just walk in to place it, no need for whoever is at home to call. Cause I can think for myself and this is pretty simple."
You know what dad, if your way of thinking is this so called "common sense", then I want to be fucking out of my mind as uncommon as possible.
