Here's my stupid Jurassic Park self insert and their Utahraptor charge :3
BACKSTORY UNDER THE CUT!!
(warning; self indulgent, animal death is mentioned but not emphasized! they also collect dinosaurs because i like dinosaurs :3 )
basically, they worked on Isla Nublar during the events of Jurassic World (2015) and were very dedicated to the pack of Utahraptor that they were assigned to. The Utahraptors hadn't been released to the public as an attraction yet, as they were still juveniles, but we're prevalent in RC's (their nickname and initials) social media posts. RC had worked with them since even before hatching, having originally worked in incubation monitoring. after they were there for hatching and the young raptors showed obvious signs of imprintation (alongside RC being attached beyond undoing) they were trained and moved to an animal handler position, specified for Utahraptors. they worked on teaching them tricks and commands for years in order to have them do shows once they were released to the public. RC also worked with Parasaurolophus and Procompsognathus, even though they were not specialized for either and we're only moved for lack of staff.
During the events of the movie, they were on main street on their lunch break. when news of the Indominus Rex escape reached them, they beelined for their animals. The Paras were out in the gyrosphere fields, so they could not retrieve them. The Procompsognathus were in between them and the raptors, and they had cat crates they used for vet visits. so, RC stopped at the compy exhibit to retrieve the 7 animals and place them in 2 crates before grabbing both, alongside another handler who had arrived shortly after them and also worked with compys. they both headed towards RC's 3 raptors, Crimini, Amanita and Maitake. The Utahraptors were located near the border that separated the main walkable park from the wild end. When RC arrived, the building was burning. People had knocked over torches and lights in their scattering. RC left their crate of compys with their co-worker and ran inside. all 3 raptors were out in the paddock rather than in their indoor enclosure, but all three were panicking at the other side. RC managed to get 2/3 out before the hurricane alarms, repurposed for alerts of the Indominus Rex, began going off. They quickly gathered all three after removing the other raptor and they evacuated with their co-worker, who was very cautious and panicking about the raptors. they all arrived at a empty bunker that was locked inside a remote control room, for employees only. luckily, the bunker also held muzzles and chain leashes strong enough to move complacent dinosaurs, but easily broken. the two employees hunkered down after RC muzzled their raptors.
after the Indominus is defeated, which I'm changing to he about a week later for timeline convenience, they run out of food and are forced out of the bunker as well as attempting to evacuate with the dinosaurs. they were turned back by the last, mostly empty, boat unless they left the dinosaurs. The coworker manages to smuggle 2 compys on board, saying that the duffle bag he had zipped them in loosely, was full of medical supplies for his diabetes that he couldn't leave behind. which wasn't entirely a lie, there were just also smuggled chicken-sized dinosaurs in there.
RC wanted to stay back, but was made to leave.
Years later, during the events of Fallen Kingdom, they had enough money from lawsuits and a connection who informed them of the bidding. they managed to buy back Crimini and Maitake, finding out that Amanita was unable to be retrieved. Once they were safely loaded in their truck, after nearly knocking RC over about 8 times on the way out because of their circling like excited puppies, the dinosaurs were released by Maisie. (RC had parked relatively far from the building, so they hadn't seen the indoraptor after retrieving their dinosaurs and leaving) They managed to gain the trust of a compy, who gladly let them pick them up. (they had been trained on ways to hold and gain the trust of a compy) They began to leave when an archaeopteryx landed on their hood, glancing around before pecking their windshield and cracking it. that's when the carnotaurus showed up and RC quickly grabbed the archaeopteryx and put the pedal to the metal.
the arrangement of the car was weird, all the dinosaurs were inside the cab, with the passenger seat pushed all the way back. Crimini took up the passenger seat with his head laying in RCs lap, the Compy laid on the floor board of the passenger seat, on top of the feathered end of the raptors tail. Maitake took up the rest of the back seat, her head laying on Criminis neck. the Archaeopteryx squeezed itself between the window pane and the headrest of the back seat. all the dinosaurs were either sleeping off the poisonous chemicals they had been briefly exposed to, or just plain exhausted.
RC will go on to buy a ranch with hush money from Jurassic World and from their new job as a paleoartist who worked on reconstructing dinosaurs remotely. They also took in dinosaurs that were too injured to be released when the DPG had no space. They wind up with the most mismatched herd ever. two raptors who behave like dogs, their cat of a compy (named Chip), an archaeopteryx named Batty for his erratic behavior. also a mother Sinoceratops and her twin calf's, surrendered because the mother had a broken horn and missing tail tip and both her babies had been socialized with humans too much to survive in the wild, a parasaurolophus who had broke his leg and needed to be kept safe from predators, a brachiosaurus that they found themself in the woods near their home, leg caught in a bear trap, and a stegosaurus and her calf, the mother missing her whole tail tip and spikes, and the young with deformed plates.
they're all kept illegally by government laws, of course, but they do have experience and have a contact in the DPG (their old colleague who took the two compys) who informed them of dinosaurs who needed rescuing when the DPG had no space.
They named their parasaurolophus Perry (teal and periwinkle), after Perry the platypus. The sinoceratops were named Jade (green), and her babies Amber (yellow) and Pearl (piebald green and white). The brachiosaurus is Littlefoot (the 2001 skin, pale with a bright red head and neck fade) and the stegosaurus is Arcee (pale green), and her baby is Frenzy (pale teal green)
they had a tendency to impulse buy or rescue dinosaurs they had worked with, but they've definitely learned and love their herd :) they use their herd as models when they work on their paleo reconstructions, which is why they're relatively high quality.
For the record; Crimini and Maitake are like border collies and help herd the herbivores and keep them in a specific area when needed (like if there's an inspector or surprise visit, they herd them into a specific fenced spot in the woods). Batty behaves similar to Jewel from Rio, starting off erratic around RC but eventually mellowing out while still staying wild. Chip is very cat-like and enjoys cuddles and treats. The sinoceratops behave similar to bison, the stegosaurus to cows, perry to a horse and the brachiosaurus to an extremely dog-like llama. They live out in the rocky mountains, on the west side. they live near a small town, but not too close.
Another OC no one including me asked for. After surviving the volcano Wesker went off and made some kids because why not? The first of these that survived was Octavia. She’s....a nice girl. She’s friendly and optimistic and Albert and Alex have no idea how the fuck that happened. She’s also perfectly bonded with the T-virus and has the potential for Ouroboros but chooses not to manifest it. Her younger brother William can be a walking hentai joke if he wants but it’s not for her.
Predictably, she happens to be around when Kyle Redfield gets stranded on their island and she becomes smitten by him and invites him home.
Wesker bangs his head against the wall while Chris feels a disturbance in the Force...
