I have a rant I need to get off of my chest. One of the most stressful things about being in a serious relationship is fighting over stupid stuff. For example my fiancé and I were in our room watching ‘Talking Dead’ while I was putting away laundry and he was laying in bed. When I was finished I asked him nicely if he would put away his clothes/pick up his mess on his side of the bed. He then proceeds to complain about being tired, not wanting to, and whined like a child. The more he did so the more pissed I became. As he finally got up and starts putting away his clothes I say “see it wasn’t that bad, and it only took you like 2 seconds!”, he replies with “no it took me 5 minutes!”. Really dude? Is it necessary to act like a 10 year old? I’m not your mother and I shouldn’t have to fight you to do something that I shouldn’t even have to ask you to do. I then ask him if he could just put away the stuff he has on the floor. Which he starts shoving violently into the drawers of his storage cart. Like what the actual fuck is all this attitude for? I get it, you worked all week/weekend, you had your law enforcement training classes Monday-Thursday for 4 hours at night, but all I asked you to do was put away your small pile of clothes and the small pile of stuff you had on the floor that all in all took you maybe 7 minutes to complete. I try to do the laundry, clean our room & bathroom, do dishes, clean the litterbox, etc. all while working 40 hour weeks so you don’t have to do ANYTHING except put clothes away when you have free time. The only time we get to spend together is for maybe an hour and a half on weeknights when you get home from class before I go to bed, and the one hour lunch I have during the week if you’re at work at that time. Or the occasional thirty minutes when you have extra time before class if you don’t need to study. We shouldn’t be arguing over this. I don’t want to clean just as much as you, but I do it anyway and don’t complain about it. My parents say you have to pick and choose your battles. Which is true and comes with trial and error. But damnit I’m not doing everything for you.

To be honest...

I try to be patient and kind and (since watching the new Cinderella) have courage. I always try to be positive and put others first. I try to be a great listener and not talk about myself too much. I really really try... But, the fastest and most effective way to bring out my crazy and not so nice side is to ignore me. Seriously, I can’t stand that shit! 

My (not) boyfriend and I had an argument last night that was completely avoidable. I texted him after work about something and then responded “Kay.” to his response. (I meant to type “Okay.”) He took that as I was mad at him so he waited about an hour to text me again asking how my day was. I said it was fine and again, he ignored me thinking I was mad. I texted him again about an hour later saying I was going to sleep and that he was being rude for ignoring me. We fought for an hour over why he was being an inconsiderate jerk for ignoring me because (God forbid?) I might be upset with him. I was only upset with him for ignoring me (which he knows is something that pisses me off). Ugh. How old are we again?
