When: 24 November 1980 Where: Wenlock Beach Who: Elizabeth Dayal & @sturgispodmore
Three days after more or less but not really admitting that she might have feelings for Sturgis— he ran into a burning building for his best friend. It caused a stirring in her chest that she chalked up to indigestion and once she knew he was safe, the tightness eased and she told herself that as long as he was being safe about being an idiot it was fine.
Then several days passed, and then several more, and then she couldn’t not owl him. When she told Hattie she would be clingy it was a joke, but owling someone twice in two weeks definitely had her on that path. She supposed she could chalk it up to spending every day with him for almost three months, but she had used that excuse for the last owl. Perhaps it would be okay to simply admit that she wanted to see him. He had said it’d be alright— they were staying married for the kids after all.
She sat on the beach, fingers dug into the sand. It was far too cold for anyone else to be around but she liked the solitude of it as she waited for Sturgis, trying to sort what she felt.
