Sitting at a small table alone, Terra sighs as he begrudgingly closes his textbook and runs his hand through his dark hair, a headache beginning to cradle the undersides of his brain. This is all just bullshit, he sighs, irritated at the work load before him that never seems to dwindle. An ache is present behind his eyes as he looks around the large cafeteria space meant to house hundreds of students, but currently only managing to feed a few stragglers that hadn't had their last meal of the day until the present time of 11:26 p.m., a number that lays suspended on his 'sleeping' laptop screen.
Terra looks towards the abandoned soda machines along the wall before pushing back his chair and grabbing the cheap, plastic cup off this table that was provided for him upon entering hours beforehand. His leg muscles flex and stretch as he weaves his way around abandoned tables and chairs, the blood flow making him feel slightly more awake. Despite this, a long yawn escapes him as he shoves the red plastic cup under the fountain and presses down the Mountain Dew button until the fizz is nearly overflowing over the sides.
As he walks back to his solitary table, he raises his cup to his mouth carefully sipping at the sugary soda that he knew could probably rot him through and through. Just as he's nearing the tables, the entrance of a girl with bright blue hair makes him lower his cup and look after her as she moves through the empty cafeteria to find her own table. He can see her as she sits down and opens her bag, small petite hands grabbing at the contents of the bag until she pulls out a laptop of her own and flips it open. Terra watches her as he sits at his own table and watches as the laptops light shines at her face, making her blue eyes look electric and wild.
Wonder who she is and why the hell she's here at this hour, Terra wonders before shaking his head, an action that makes bright lights appear behind his eyelids and sends his head into a shock of protesting pain.
He tries to dismiss his curiosity in her, but even as he tries to refocus his attention on his work, he finds himself glancing over at the back of her laptop screen to catch small glimpses of her working on something of her own. She's going to see you, idiot. Looking away, he finds himself hurriedly finishing his Mountain Dew so he can get up and refill it, an act that allows him a chance to look at her without it being too obvious.
Fuck it, he scolds himself, walking over towards her table, forgetting he still had the stupid red plastic cup in his hand. As he came toward her, she looked up from her screen and meet his gaze. Her blue eyes seemed to see through him, calculating his every move and knowing everything he ever was and will be.
"Hey," He manages, standing beside her table with an odd sense of accomplishment that he actually made it over to her without her eyes shooting rays of heat out at him,"I'm Terra. I don't know if you remember me, but we used to have the Freshman 101 class together."
A small look of confusion came across her face as she glanced back down at her laptop, her mind somewhere else completely. He could tell he just disrupted a train of thought, and all with some stupid comment that was probably the dumbest reintroduction he could have ever come up with.
"Just wanted to say hey," He smiles, the weight of the plastic cup in his hand seeming to double as he turns to return to his own table, "Dumb shit." He sighs, shaking his head at himself.
