Ok this is it, I think this is my favourite piece of Phantom fanart I've made.

In the little booklet that comes with the Russian cast album there's a photo of this scene which I absolutely love - he looks like he's absolutely terrified of her! It's so, so expressive and dynamic! It's been on my 'to draw' list for ages and I finally got around to doing it. Reference image below the cut!

This is yet another occasion where it was meant to be a fully rendered piece but I got this far and thought it needed to stay as it is. I might try it again and actually colour it next time.

Just. This is my favourite scene in the musical (it feels odd to say that about something so heartbreaking?) because there is so much nuance, so many layers to the characterisation, and I think this photo really captures that.

Mandarin robe has been replaced by a lovely brocade robe that hugh-rik snuggled into before playing

They lean into the 2004 "am i gonna kiss u" angle of unmasking

He settled back in his seat smiling as she approached him like "of course she stayed of course shes happy here"

He showed her his music and pointed out a measure to her as she sang to him!!!!!!!! They love music!! togehter!!

He fell to his knees in front of @box5intern as he should

Gotta tell a bit of a story with this one. I can’t remember the first time we watched this production of the restaged tour, but I know it was a long time ago, and this unique “Delilah” has been stuck in my head since then. Needless to say, I was shocked to hear it again as we watched some funny clips during a stream. Now my earworm is in a short audio clip so it can become stuck in your brain as well!
