Um. You two (yes, I'm implicating Christine in this because she is obviously into it). You are ON STAGE in front of an AUDIENCE.
Phantom hands in Christine's hair appreciation crowd will like this one, I'm sure. I mean, it's all hands everywhere.

So far heβs played the Phantom in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Manila, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The photos are a mix from this. The original design is by Maria BjΓΈrnson.

Another one of my favourite musical theatre songs ever, this one also from Master and Margarita! I really, really love this particular performance from Ivan, it feels much more emotionally intense and raw than was standard fare from him in the 2015-era of this musical. A+ acting, A+ singing, we get the 20-second note, what more can I say.
As usual translation notes are below the cut, and Russian speakers who are more fluent than me, please feel free to evaluate.
@musical-ingenue-wannabe I'm so sorry this took me a hot minute to find, apparently I used a different software to make the subtitles for this one so it was on a different external drive. The only other one I have is the intro to Π‘ΡΡΠ°Ρ ΠΈ ΠΡΠ±ΠΎΠ²Ρ from the 2022 production, I'll upload that later. Enjoy!

Here's a little audio of Evgeniy Zaytsev's Raoul trying really hard to get into Christine's dressing room.
Raoul, at this point you might as well just kick in the door.

Fun fact I wanted to make that line my blog title but it didn't fit :(
Anyway, here's another fragment from my unfinished musical theatre subtitles folder - sharing because this is one of my absolute favourite songs from any musical ever, I'm in love with the lyrics and the orchestration and everything is just... aaaaa
I tried to convey the general meaning of the lyrics as best as possible with the subtitles but I have a couple of footnotes on the translation below the cut. My Russian language skills are not very good so any native speakers who see this, please feel free to eviscerate me. Or offer constructive criticism, that works too.
@musical-ingenue-wannabe this is a bit of the subtitle project I mentioned!
i am on my knees, begging for someone to make subtitles for the Master and Margarita musical. I donβt care about English translation, I just want to know what the heck theyβre saying period. i canβt memorize the dialogue and obsessively reenact scenes from it (and consequently get better at Russian) if all i have to go off of is spoken words from a language i canβt speak.
Hey, I know that I'm over a year late to this post (I put something in the m&m tag and then saw it lol) but if you're still interested? I thought about doing an English subtitle of it years ago back when my Russian was still decent, and then kinda abandoned the project. Everything I did do was from songs so I'm not much help with the spoken dialogue, sorry!
But in case it's useful, if you just want to read the written lyrics, all the songs (no dialogue unfortunately) were posted in a vk discussion thread at some point, it may still be there but if not I downloaded it and would be happy to share if you can't find it online (it's an rtf so it looks like an absolute mess, but everything is there). Let me know if you'd like it!
Still going nuts over this one performance of ΠΠ°ΡΡΠ½ΠΈΠΊ ΠΡΠ΅ΠΌΡΠ½, he made some really normal breathing decisions in this one
