MAN IN MOTION
Gink's set tonight is all about motion, so I asked for "Man In Motion, beautiful young male in motion, charming boy aesthetic fashion editorial fine art photography HDR" and threw it through the Style Creator for a pretty eclectic selection of pretties.
THE MAGPIE PRINCE
Some years ago I read a book called The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles and got really into the lore of magpies based on it; and a recent writing project in the Lord Foxbridge universe (see my blog) I decided to name "The Magpie," which features a character who is nicknamed Magpie for his white skin and black hair (maybe he's a little light-fingered too); and since I was working on that story for NaNoWriMo (RIP) I wanted to make a cover image, usingthe AI art hobby I'd recently fallen into. Then some time last week I saw an image from that project pop up in my "remember me?" emails from Google Photos, and decided to throw it into the newest version of MidJourney to see what I could make of it with my new favorite toy, Style Creator.
And since I had all these gorgeous pictures and they were pretty random looking, I used one for my Radio Randomonium poster tonight!
ALPHABET SOUP
I heard a vague sort of murmur that Fieger's set tonight was going to be about the alphabet, and my mind jumped immediately to Alphabet Soup and conjured the idea of a hot guy in a pool full of alphabet floaties. So I hied me hence to MidJourney and asked for exactly that, put it through the Style Creator, and came up with the above. Then it turned out Fieger's set had absolutely nothing to do with the alphabet except being a wide ranging variety from AC/DC to ZZ Top, but that didn't preclude my theme so I just ran with it :D
INDEPENDENCE NIGHT 2
(Continued from part 1) While I was working on tonight's posters, I was also working on my blues set for tomorrow, for which I am listening to a lot of protest and political music; and I felt that the most important thing I could put in tonight's poster was ethnic/racial diversity. So using the most successful of the previous prompts, I added "diverse ethnicities" and stipulated black, white, Hispanic, and Asian...letting the AI decide which flavors of each to use; not very surprisingly it didn't think of Indian and Arab types of Asian; but the Hispanic (or I should say Latinx) gents did range from the African-leaning to European-leaning looks. I didn't use the exact same styles in the second set as I had in the first, though, so didn't get as much diversity of aesthetics. Still, it turned out pretty good!
INDEPENDENCE NIGHT 1
For those of us who were around during the Bicentennial year of 1976, and remember the red-white-and-blue patriotic frenzy of it all, the cultural buzz around the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence that marked the birth of our nation has been underwhelming, to say the least. Marred by internecine division and the leadership of a low-rent clown, everything about it has been ridiculous.
Nevertheless, we're celebrating the Fourth of July in our own style at Starfall, and I have been churning out hotties all week in fits and starts. This post is the ones I created during the week, the next post will be the ones I made today when I decided that I wanted more specific ethnic diversity. So stay tuned for part 2.
DRAG IN SPACE
Tonight, on the 57th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riot kickoff, we're holding my annual Drag Ball, and doing it at our Pride In Space festival booth instead of the main club, so I generated a lot of hot guys in space-age drag for the posters. Like I've been doing lately with the Style Creator, I made a LOT of pictures but was able to winnow it down to a Tumblr-reasonable number.
PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION
Tonight at Starfall, DJ Gink is playing a set of Progressive Rock (and progressive folk and progressive jazz), so I started making posterboys with "Progressive Rock, handsome young men queer academia gay interest" as the prompt and heavy use of Style Creator; then I remembered it was still the Anniversaweek and I already had a cache of posterboys for the occasion, so I just picked my favorite of those and used that for the poster. Still, I had all these quite nice pictures (though the "queer academia" tag seems to have inspired a lot of bespectacled adorkables, which appears to be an effect of v. 8.1 rather than the combination with "charming boy aesthetic"), so thought I'd share them with you all! :)
