TERMINATORS, THALASSOGRAPHY, & TWINKS

Today is Arnold Schwarzenegger's birthday, and so I asked for The Terminator leaning against a jukebox for Fieger's set tonight; and the Daily Theme prompt today was megalithalassography, which I used to generate a handful of landscapes and twinks; there were some fashion layout types from a fun image I discovered elsewhere on Tumblr; and I made some old-master-style Cupids from a painting I found on Pinterest this morning. None of these was enough for a post, but they add up to a post, so here we are! :)

THINK PINK AT RANDOM

I had this picture I made weeks ago that I wanted to use for my poster (and to get the tune to "Think Pink" from Funny Face stuck in my head), but I also toyed with using one of the random pictures I made yesterday and today instead.

For Gink's Cover Song Pajama Party tonight I went through the archives and reference pictures looking for inspirations for hot boys in beds, and found a few tasty ones to update and rework, especially the ones where I got to personalize the tattoos.

Just some of the slightly off-center hotties I've generated in the last couple of days, mostly using Describe on snazzy images mined off Pinterest. And then another Radio Randomonium of new releases, fresh discoveries, and old favorites to listen to while ogling ;-)

Gink's set tonight is all about motion, so I asked for "Man In Motion, beautiful young male in motion, charming boy aesthetic fashion editorial fine art photography HDR" and threw it through the Style Creator for a pretty eclectic selection of pretties.

SILKY & SLINKY & SINUOUS

Today is World Snake Day so I went and grabbed some Men With Snakes inspirations from Pinterest and drop-and-described them in Midjourney with some success! I'm not afraid of snakes but I don't find them very attractive as pets, like I don't want to hold them and a lot of them smell, but they're beautiful to look at.

TUNESDAY TOTTY THIRTEEN

Odd variety of posterboys tonight, I started off trying to copy Dov's poster from last week, which I'd made months ago, and then tried something new with "handsome shirtless man with curly black hair and cat-ears sitting at a patio bar drinking a vodka martini in a poolside nightclub with an urban skyline background" with much recourse to Style Creator (and like last week ended up using something I'd made ages ago when those didn't suit); Kaj mentioned "dark and moody" for his motif or flavor, so I asked for "Dark Mood, hot blond alt rocker posing shirtless in a midnight alley" and used the Style Creator again, gaining some tasty treats, many of which were reminiscent of The Vampire Lestat. Anyway, a good time was had by all.

THE MAGPIE PRINCE

Some years ago I read a book called The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles and got really into the lore of magpies based on it; and a recent writing project in the Lord Foxbridge universe (see my blog) I decided to name "The Magpie," which features a character who is nicknamed Magpie for his white skin and black hair (maybe he's a little light-fingered too); and since I was working on that story for NaNoWriMo (RIP) I wanted to make a cover image, usingthe AI art hobby I'd recently fallen into. Then some time last week I saw an image from that project pop up in my "remember me?" emails from Google Photos, and decided to throw it into the newest version of MidJourney to see what I could make of it with my new favorite toy, Style Creator.

And since I had all these gorgeous pictures and they were pretty random looking, I used one for my Radio Randomonium poster tonight!

RED HOT AND BLUE

For tonight's theme, Gink declared "power blues and blues rock"; So I put "Power Blues Rock" into the prompt and ran it without and then with my personal filter. took the one that looked most like power blues and blues rock to my eye, and used it as an image reference and/or style reference for the prompt "Power Blues Rock, beautiful young men,. summer vibes charming boy aesthetic gay interest fine art." It produced some lovely pictures... kind of samey samey since it all came from one image (the last one in this post) but still worth sharing.

ALPHABET SOUP

I heard a vague sort of murmur that Fieger's set tonight was going to be about the alphabet, and my mind jumped immediately to Alphabet Soup and conjured the idea of a hot guy in a pool full of alphabet floaties. So I hied me hence to MidJourney and asked for exactly that, put it through the Style Creator, and came up with the above. Then it turned out Fieger's set had absolutely nothing to do with the alphabet except being a wide ranging variety from AC/DC to ZZ Top, but that didn't preclude my theme so I just ran with it :D

ROSWELLIAN

Due to mishearing an announcement at Starfall, I started preparing for a Roswell themed Tuesday double-header with posterboys and postercats for Kaj and Dov; the essential idea was a hot guy and an alien hugging for Kaj and a space cat emerging from a crashed UFO for Dov. I didn't make many before I realized that the Roswell anniversary was today (Monday) rather than Tuesday, but the pictures came out kind of cute and worth sharing anyway.

CIVIL RIGHTS BLUES

Sometimes I find myself fielding a theme that does not really lend itself to minimally draped hotties, so I get to explore a different side of my aesthetic principles; one such theme is tonight's blues set, which is concentrating on protest blues, which is mostly civil-rights related though there's some current political events as well. So I asked the AI for "civil rights blues" first, then added "march on Washington" and then went on to include "queer academia gay interest" to get some rainbows and prettiness. I'm not super wild about them and it was really easy to pick a poster, but they are worth sharing nonetheless, if only to display a different side of my taste profile :)

INDEPENDENCE NIGHT 2

(Continued from part 1) While I was working on tonight's posters, I was also working on my blues set for tomorrow, for which I am listening to a lot of protest and political music; and I felt that the most important thing I could put in tonight's poster was ethnic/racial diversity. So using the most successful of the previous prompts, I added "diverse ethnicities" and stipulated black, white, Hispanic, and Asian...letting the AI decide which flavors of each to use; not very surprisingly it didn't think of Indian and Arab types of Asian; but the Hispanic (or I should say Latinx) gents did range from the African-leaning to European-leaning looks. I didn't use the exact same styles in the second set as I had in the first, though, so didn't get as much diversity of aesthetics. Still, it turned out pretty good!

INDEPENDENCE NIGHT 1

For those of us who were around during the Bicentennial year of 1976, and remember the red-white-and-blue patriotic frenzy of it all, the cultural buzz around the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence that marked the birth of our nation has been underwhelming, to say the least. Marred by internecine division and the leadership of a low-rent clown, everything about it has been ridiculous.

Nevertheless, we're celebrating the Fourth of July in our own style at Starfall, and I have been churning out hotties all week in fits and starts. This post is the ones I created during the week, the next post will be the ones I made today when I decided that I wanted more specific ethnic diversity. So stay tuned for part 2.

DRAG IN SPACE

Tonight, on the 57th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riot kickoff, we're holding my annual Drag Ball, and doing it at our Pride In Space festival booth instead of the main club, so I generated a lot of hot guys in space-age drag for the posters. Like I've been doing lately with the Style Creator, I made a LOT of pictures but was able to winnow it down to a Tumblr-reasonable number.

PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION

Tonight at Starfall, DJ Gink is playing a set of Progressive Rock (and progressive folk and progressive jazz), so I started making posterboys with "Progressive Rock, handsome young men queer academia gay interest" as the prompt and heavy use of Style Creator; then I remembered it was still the Anniversaweek and I already had a cache of posterboys for the occasion, so I just picked my favorite of those and used that for the poster. Still, I had all these quite nice pictures (though the "queer academia" tag seems to have inspired a lot of bespectacled adorkables, which appears to be an effect of v. 8.1 rather than the combination with "charming boy aesthetic"), so thought I'd share them with you all! :)
