DAISUKE BIRTHDAY

@stylesofh2o​ : [Text to: DAISUKE] Was away on business, so I apologize for the delay. Elizabeth the 3rd and I wish you the warmest of birthdays. Dinner soon? I have a gift.

There wasn’t much surprise from Daisuke as he read the text, assuming that was the case. They were both busy men who couldn’t always drop everything to see each other even if they did do that sometimes on a whim, and he’d been rather preoccupied anyway.

As it turned out, having more than a singular friend in the entire world made birthdays a little less unappealing.

     [ ➔ JUMIN ]: There’s no need for apologies, I understand, but I’m grateful to receive your and Elizabeth’s well wishes. Katou and I are not currently pursuing a case that will be whisking us away across the globe so I’ll be in Japan and available for dinner whenever your schedule allows. I’ll make sure of it.      [ ➔ JUMIN ]: Genevieve quite misses her friend and we look forward to seeing you both soon.

you’d think the act would get exhausting after a while . 

to be fair - it did . but , kyousuke had already cracked the code of how to keep people around . & as much as he hated it , he knew that he didn’t have a personality that people wanted to be around . yu , however , did . the biggest annoyance came when other people found out , which alone threatened to blow his cover . hence why he felt the need to keep an eye on asahi - the idiot from the university’s swim team that he was unfortunate enough to share a major with , so it wasn’t like he could easily escape him .

the soccer team started frequenting a cafe off campus after meets , which started off as an annoyance the moment kyousuke learned of it being owned by asahi’s sister , but now became a hot-spot of surveillance . trailing in like a bunch of rowdy jocks , kyousuke was wedged between two , much-taller teammates of his , smiling bold with a melodic laugh as he pretended to acknowledge that dumbass’s joke .

golden eyes drift toward asahi , & while that smile never leaves his expression , it seems to mismatch the mistrust in his eyes .   ❝ hey , hey ! asahiiii ♫ ❞   he sing-songs as he slips away from his teammates in favor of cutely nudging his shoulder against the taller’s .   ❝ the soccer team sure does like hanging out here . we definitely have you to thank for that ! ❞   // @stylesofh2o

    “right. i don’t know which one of you is most insufferable.” probably himself, but never gonna accept it. even at this point, junho was unsure on how to socialize with his bandmates. faking it in front of the camera was actually easier than real life. “nope. hyung is busy today and hajoon is boring because he always breaks. that makes you my victim today, consider yourself lucky.”

Finally, a breath of fresh air and an escape from the endless pressures of work..not that the millionaire worked particularly hard for such a reward of this magnitude. It was typical for Daisuke to take time off for himself, away from the hustle of everyday life, though it was rare that he invited anyone else on his personal trips outside of family and business contacts.

❝ She offered but I declined. It wouldn’t be considered a vacation if I was there, ❞ Daisuke replied, his lips making contact with the edge of his glass as he takes a sip of wine, setting his glass down once he’s satisfied with his drink. ❝ Besides she needs a break of her own. ❞

Blue-gray eyes then make contact with Katou once he hears his next concern, the corners of his lips forming crescents as he leans back into his chair, almost amused.

❝ You work way to hard so I thought it would only be appropriate to bring you along just so you can experience what true relaxation feels like, ❞ Daisuke declares, reaching for one of the various bottles that were on display on the table, figuring that the variety would help due to their vast differences in tastes. ❝ Everything here is palatable...maybe your palate isn’t quite used to such high quality ingredients? ❞

            “  alright . . . forget pleasantries  ,  ”  jaeho said  ,  eyes looking up from the file he was reading when the door opened  .  immediately stubbing out the cigarette  ,  he rarely smoked around guests  (  and less so . . . around gabriel as a courtesy to the man’s child  ,  though the other shouldn’t feel special . . . jaeho’s just conscious of who is around him and where he smokes  )  ,  he doesn’t rise from his seat to greet the russian nor make a move to accommodate him  .             “  your frenzied texts has caused so much disruption that you managed to wiggle a meeting . . . so what did you want  ??  ”  he asks  ,  leaning back in his seat  .

            “  here  ,  take some more . . . don’t worry about it being too sweet  ,  ”  he presses a few more candies into the other’s hand  ,  “  i make them myself . . . it’s actually healthier than it is junk  ,  ”  he declares  ,  offering a bright smile  .  “  it’s good for an energy boost  .  ”

     it’s not that nezumi’s upset he went out for drinks on new year’s eve and woke up the next year in someone else’s apartment...rather, it’s the cliché of it all. 

     unfamiliar ceiling, check. unfamiliar bed, check. unfamiliar immobile lump in the sheets beside him, check. if nezumi’s hangover were any worse, he’d think he woke up in a second-rate romcom as a flighty hooker played by julia roberts. he pops up from the pillows and promptly squints — not because he can’t see, but because last night’s mascara is crusting over in his eye and his stringy black bangs are matted to his face. he’s hardly a sleeping beauty, and yet the first thing that leaves his mouth, croaky and deadpan, is:

     “ — you’re not as attractive as i remember you. ”
