Brunch & Brew Style Tile
Above is a Style Tile of Brunch and brew, my website created as part of the RSA brief. I used two fonts within my website -
Open Sans Regular for the body text & buttons
Poppins for headings.
My colour scheme consisted of only 5 different colours as I tried to keep the design of my website very minimal. The two buttons shown in the collage are the only two styles I used through the website. I really think the Poppins font for the headings worked really well and think it definitely pairs well with Open Sans. The background image is the same image I’ve used for the landing/welcoming page of the website, as it accurately displays afternoon tea in a lovely environment. My logo can be seen in the left-hand corner along with the navigation bar on the right-hand side, copying the same positioning of these elements on my website.

This is just an illustration of how I want my website to be colour coded and text designed. From doing this I am able to design my website from this.
Week 9 Style Sheet
For Chipper’s colors, we chose to look into six colors that can be used as indicators, tags throughout the app design. We were set on using this dynamic color range as it not only emphasizes the friendliness of the app but creates more variety of design within the app. Chipper’s Font we were at stage 1 in the planning of the app set on using Facebook’s font family, SF (San Francisco) Pro. We liked the cleanliness, simplicity, and weighting throughout the font family, and it looks superb on mobile screens. We used a combination of different weights, opacities, and styles of SF Pro throughout the app to differentiate type and create a sense of hierarchy.
Nicole Saidy Blog
In her blog Nicole Saidy writes the five steps for a successful website design and below I have read over her style guide. We all may know what the are, why use them and how to use them, but a little refresher does no one any harm.
What the heck is a style guide?
A set of guidelines, a visual reference to the design language of a digital product usually made of fonts, colours, style and other UI elements.
What does it consist of?
A good style guide should consist of unified user interface elements for the brand identity. It mainly consists of logo, colour palette, buttons, forms typography and iconography.
Why would I use it?
Composing your style tiles will translate the mood, feeling and tone of your website based on what you learned from your client’s needs. It will help you make choices about how to use the elements of design in a way that the client will understand.
Designing your style tiles will show your client the website’s skin. Instead of composing your full designed website in a certain style, now you can update your style tiles with the client’s requests in a quick and efficient way.
