Promotion
Belfast School of Art instagram page helped spread the word of Bemind.
Promotion like this is free and powerful. Having the help of a well known influence is great help and sends the followers from there page to my page.
QR CODE
I got a QR code made for my promotional website. I would like to use this on my colophon report so people can scan the code and check out the website.
My initial plan was to have some stickers of the QR code and have them posted and stuck on my end of year show board so people who where looking at my project would be able to quickly access my promotional website and even test the prototype demo.
My promotional website is up and running. Coded on brackets and hosted on Dreamhost. I was able to upload it via FileZilla. Im happy and proud of the outcome of my promotional website which included a breakdown or features and what the app is about.

Instagram has so many helpful and useful ux design accounts which post daily content to help inform others. I do follow a lot of them and came across this. I have been designing for a iOS app because I am a iPhone user, but not everyone has an iPhone.
I feel I need to branch out and start to look into Android Design and is it any different. This post from Nitish is extremely informative and has helped me look from a different perspective.
I won't be able to design for an android before my deadline but will continue to do so and have it displayed for my portfolio to show I can design forth iOS and Android
Apple Watch
Last semester I played on the idea of branching out into a smart watch for the user. I didn't get fully into this idea due to unforeseen events, but I did change it a bit and added the breathe function into it.
I am happy how it turned out but would have liked to added more and played around a bit with a smart watch idea.

Branding
Branding for your product can help promote it. It also makes it look very professional. With my project I wanted the branding to be simple and fun. Bemind is a mental wellness app and I wanted to project that onto the branding. Having small promotional products like pens, badges and notepads allows people who will be either going to my end of yer show to pick them up and take them home, these branding tools can then work as a reminder for the person to download the app or use the app each time they see these promotional products.
Notification
I wanted to make the app as real as possible. Creating an app icon for the home screen of the phone. I did something similar last semester but changed my brand so I had to change the icon too. I do like how it looks and giving the app as much detail as possible
App Feedback
I have been very very fortunate enough to get people in the Design industry to give me feedback on my work. I would like to thank the people in the slack group “NI Design Chat” for giving up their time to help me out.

Getting feedback is one of the most important things we can do as designers. Often there can be things missed due to human error or simply having a different persons option can help see from a different perspective.
The feedback I receive was good and constructive I’m very happy with it and going to get on to what needs changed and fixed.
Looking at competitors and how they promoted their product. Headspace have social medias and videos on a Youtube channel. Watching these videos and seeing how they kept the brand and provided information I would love to do something like this for bemind.
Promotional videos are now a great thing to have as they can be shared all over the internet and watched by millions. With videos you are able to tell a story and capture the users attention.
A good, eye catching promotional video helps to bring the tone to a more personal level without making the sales aspect so overt. TV Adverts are the most popular but with the internet now YouTube adverts, Facebook videos and instagram story videos more and more people are able to see what you are and what you do. Having the added effort of a video makes the brand and project more professional.
Get information on using the App Store badge and Apple product images, as well as best practices for promoting apps on the App Store.
I used this website to get my buttons for my promotional website. As I have developed a iOS App for my major project I wanted to have the “download to App Store” offical apple button displayed for users to click on it and for them to be redirected to the App Store to download my app.
Using apples official apple developer you are able to get the correct images you want instead of downloads some image of google which you may not know is correct or not.
I would recommend this to other designers. It is a very useful website
Accessibility
Colour Blind Test. Using the Stark plugin on XD I am able to design for those who are colour blind.
Deuteranopia, Tritanopia and Protanopia are just some of the different types of colour blindness. Testing the colour scheme I have I am happy that the colours I have used do not blend or confuse. The green does change but the style and obvious call to actions are still visible and recognisable.
Mock Ups
I do like creating mock ups I feel they give the product a feel life feel. Mock ups sell the product and allow you to showcase the best parts of the app.
I will be using these for the bemind instagram page to show off the app and give a stylish feel
Apple Watch Moodboard
Last semester I started to design an Apple Watch add on but never really went anywhere with it. I though I could add more to it after researching what others have done. I go to Behance and Dribbble for inspiration sometimes on projects, just to see how others do it and what works.
From these projects I wanted to see how to design for a much smaller screen, with the apple watch less is better as it is tiny.
Creating a mockup of a weekly or monthly report meal newsletter for the users of the app. Because the user will be inputing information into the app I feel a visual report of the data will be able to show the user how they are getting on and so they can see off the app is helping or not.
Also data is a very important tool, especially to people who are in therapy and have to keep diaries. Having the information that is also simple to understand for everyone is important to me
