I was looking through my files from 2017 and came across these pictures from 2017 ALPHENART event. Its a cliche but men does time fly. This Statue was a crazy project that gave me a lot of confidence and eventually led to the first larger group Galerie exhibit in 2018. Besides the occasional clay sculpting in elementary and early middle school, I had never made a statue before, and the first thing I decided to do is design something big that had to float in the water and survive Dutch autumn weather. I don't remember where, but I got the idea to work with styrofoam, and after making a smaller test statue, I created the piece from the photo's that is about shoulder height.
