Angry Callout | GX Finalized-Subs!135(-137) WIP
Shots from GX 145's preview for 146 that got some glow-ups in the episode proper that I thought were neat (the one fix for Spark Gun is funny)
This one as Judai visualizes fusion feels like a downgrade though (they should've at least kept the flames lol):
Finalized-Subs!GX 131 is coming along smoothly 🥲🥲🥲
when character development gets your tongue
Starting on stuff for finalizing my GX 138 subs, and I'm trying to figure out how to typeset the pink/red text here in Photoshop for a translation to this shot as Kozaky attacks with his three Gustaphs… 🤔 Embossing seems like it'd be partly helpful going off the test below but hmm [also what a good font would be for this 🤔]
A First-Class Rampage | GX Finalized-Subs!138 (WIP)
(Might need to give the gifs a sec/refresh to load/play together, lol.)
Wanted to translate this as Kozaky attacks Jim with his three Chaosrider Gustaphs in episode 138, though I was a little unsure of how I'd get the center red text looking similar in Photoshop--until I found out about the Reppousé tool to 3D the text a bit. I first worked to blank the text away in the shot--done in Sony Vegas by just covering up the text with a frame of the yellow background held over it, then fading it out into the shot panning down towards the Gustaphs, though I needed to extend the first non-text/fade frame of that pan slightly upwards so I could re-do the early bit of the pan as the shots fade--and once that was done, and I played with the Repoussé settings some, I was able to replicate the center "Triple Attack!!" text (would've been ideal to try and replicate the light purple/blueish texture on the sides of the original kanji, but for working with the default textures, this should get the job done nicely) and throw on the "First-Class Rampage" text on top. Then, bringing the text into Vegas, I just applied a fade-in, slow zoom-out, and made the text pan upward while still zooming out a bit as the shot fades out.
Looks pretty spiffy, I think!
(The dub, for their part, cut this bit so it goes from Kozaky declaring his attack to the shot panning down to the three Gustaphs as of the frame after the text/yellow background fully fade out, lol.)
GX Finalized-Subs!133 (WIP): Getting Into the [Missing] Zones
Just about done finalizing my 133-134 subs and I was doing some quality-checking when I picked up on these errors with Judai's and Kenzan's Disks after the eyecatch in 133; pretty as Kyoung Soo Lee-directed episodes are by this point, they aren't without their occasional errors, lol.
To fix these, I used the shots below as reference...
...and used Photoshop to splice in/edit the wings of each Disk (with Monster Zones 3-5) into place, then touched up the new Monster Zones to blend in with the Disk I was pasting them into--in Judai's case, removing the highlights and adding shading, while for Kenzan's it was adding some shading and touching up the new Zones. Thankfully these were still scenes which made applying the edits to the footage simple. Overall, happy with how they came out!
(At least with Judai's clip, it was a short 1-2-second shot, but Kenzan's goes on for a good 7-8, lol.)
