#Repost with @indigenousgoddessgang 24 years ago today the ELZN army Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN) a guerrilla group, took over the government buildings in San Cristóbal Chiapas. Hundreds of matriarchs marched along side men in the early morning of January 1st of 1994 to overthrow the Mexican government. Since their uprising they remain autonomous and self sustaining. With a focus on women’s rights that rooted from matriarch #subcomdanteramona. Today’s #matriarchmonday honoring & featured publication comes from a youth Compañera Selena. She talks about what it’s like to fight #capitalism & poor #government as a #Zapatista warrior. Just as the women before her, she marches and carries on that matriarch beauty & bravery. I am please to say that #indigenousgoddessgang fundraised funds last April for the food work done in EZLN liberation schools. The funds raised also stretched to support us to get to Chiapas to hand deliver in early December. Today and all days we honor the womxn of the Zapatista movement, as well as the compañeros who they stand beside. Come to indigenousgoddessgang.com to read Selena’s short article. #downwithcapitalism🔥🔥🔥🔥
