For authors who are interested in submitting their manuscripts to HGBM: PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE RECENT CHANGES TO OUR SUBMISSION GUIDELINES For 2021 Our calendar is nearly full for 2021, however, we still have a few slots open for October-December. If you have a book to submit for consideration for 2021, please get that submission to us by June 30. We will let you know something by the end of August. Higher Ground Books & Media is making some changes to its submission guidelines in an effort to streamline our internal processes. We've updated our website with this information for authors who might be interested in submitting their work for consideration. The main changes include reducing the total number of submissions that will be accepted for publication and narrowing the window within which submissions will be accepted. Did You Know?

The Four Way Books June Open Reading Period is going on NOW! Read our submission guidelines before submitting your poetry collection, short story collection or novella. The deadline to submit is June 30.

Just for clarity's sake

If you are making multiple submissions within a single message, please separate each one with a semicolon ( ; ). Otherwise, the submission(s) will simply be interpreted in a way that makes the most sense to the admins.

That being said, if you feel your submission was posted incorrectly, let us know and we will try to fix it.

Posts will be limited to 5 per day.

As much as we would love to post every submission we receive right away, we also do not want to completely spam our followers' pages or the 'Tolkien' tags.

Therefore, submission posts will be limited to 5 per day, except on special occasions (Tolkien's birthday, for example).

Submission Guidelines

Hi folks!

We'd like to make sure this blog is distinguished from the 'You Know You're a Ringer When' and 'LotR Changed My Life' blogs by stressing that this blog is for posts about how Tolkien himself or any of his works (not just LotR and The Hobbit) have influenced your lives.

If your submission is more closely related to the LotR movies, please consider submitting here or here.

We will still post things relating to the movies, but we'd like to keep them to a minimum.
