Now let me ask this: was there one where the quality blew you away? The characters and dialogue felt so real, it was like you were watching the show? And the plot was laid out with such an easy flow, you were so immersed that time flew by? In short:
Did that writer totally nail it?
Then tell me - and I’ll help you spread the word!
The Nail is my seasonal rec list which focuses on highlighting quality fics and giving some quality feedback, and the Fall '18/Winter '19 edition is currently being assembled. Fics could hail from years gone by, or within the month of the latest edition. Featured are a variety of genre, style, and length, and the list can even include sprinklings of unique projects, original stories, and personal essay-type pieces on occasion.
There’s very specific criteria to which I hold myself, so you can be assured this isn’t a list with a singular focus, and I make effort to not only feature a nice mix of stories, but also “lesser known” writers in addition to any “popular” writers you may see on other rec lists with frequency. And in that same vein, I give priority to those quality stories which have <100 notes, because this list has developed a pretty decent reach, and has had success in getting these low-note fics - and their writers - the attention they deserve.
