Hey I was just wondering do you know of anyone who used products to help the rust problem in the bathrooms and if it worked
Hey,
I don't really know what you're talking about because the bathrooms I've used in Landon and Campbell don't really have rust issues. However, from what I've read it comes from the Iron in the water supply. Here's what it said:
Rust stains come from iron in the water supply, which can only be permanently remove through installation of an iron filter. Occasionally iron is dissolved from rusting water pipes or mains by corrosive water. Iron stains can be removed by a weak acid solution, usually oxalic acid which is highly toxic and must be handled with care. Never use chlorine bleach as this sets the iron stain. Fresh iron stains on plumbing fixtures such as sinks, bathtubs and chrome will generally yield to treatment with heavy duty cleaning compounds containing large proportions of trisodium phosphate. Apply cleaner with damp cloth, pad or sponge. Rub discolored surface until stain is removed. Rinse. Wipe dry and polish. Heavy, stubborn rust stains can often be removed by oxalic acid stain remover compounds such as Zud or a tri- chloro-melanine compound such as Barkeepers Friend. Follow directions carefully. For rust stains already set on bathroom or kitchen plumbing fixtures, dissolve oxalic acid crystals in hot water and add enough whiting or talc to make a soft paste. Apply this poultice to stain and let dry before removing. Rinse and polish. Use with care-it is poisonous.
Based off of all of this, I definitely recommend telling a Janitor, making a maintenance request, or letting you're RA know so that they can address it with the person in charge of the hall. To avoid getting iron or red on you're clothes, make sure you watch for emails that say when there is a "Red Water Warning".
Sorry a reply took so long but I had to figure out what you meant. I hope this helped.

Hey:) so I eventually got placed in Campbell but gunna move.out the room because I'm in transitional housing and the other two girls requested each other. I should still be staying in west circle because I got a job over there so that's good. But yeah my question is how Long does it normally take for liveon to work out housing assignments for transitional housing?
Hey!
This is random but I was going to send you a message saying you should come visit once you move up because I'll be there a week early and it be nice to meet you! No pressure no big if you don't just an option.
Anyway back to your question. Liveon services usually work pretty fast during the school year except for the first month or two in. However, since your situation has been recognized before everyone started moving in it should be pretty fast. It all depends on you and your roommate(s) and how fast/much you all communicate with liveon. Also, if you want to make sure you're still in West Circle, make sure you tell liveon services that you have a job already there so they don't put you on the other side of campus and that you would still really like to live there. They're very cooperative so don't worry about that just make sure you say what you want. Here's what the website says specifically about relocation:
Campus Living Services staff will work directly with you to identify your options for moving out of transitional housing. Based on availability, you may move to another hall or wait to see if space opens up in your current hall. Relocation will be affected by living-learning options and environmental preferences such as quiet, smoke- and/or alcohol-free rooms.Roommates generally decide who will move into a different room. If an agreement cannot be reached, the MSU housing application date is used to determine who will move. Each student in transitional housing will receive a prorated daily rebate on his or her student account for the period of time they are in a transitional assignment.
I hope this helped somewhat! Hope to see you in a couple weeks and that you get this sorted out!

ok I am an incoming freshman and I have a few questions so stay with me. First off I was assigned to East neighborhood with the preference of two of my friends with me do you think that is possible? Also do you think my friends and I will still be friends after we room together? Do bikes get stolen a lot on campus? What is the food like? lol
Hi!
I love all the questions so lets so this!
As far as getting a room with both of them, it's possible. If they both put your name down as well then it will most likely happen. The thing is though, I don't know if there are three person rooms so you might end up Suite Style with two of you on one side of the bathroom and two on the other or a four with a person you don't know. It is possible though.
As far as if you'll still be friends...I can't answer that. That totally depends on your friendship. My best friend in the world and I cannot be roommates because we will never talk again. We can live together but can't share a room. I know that from a time when she spent the night. So if you know your friends well enough to know their buttons (i'm sure you do) then it'll definitely give you an edge to prevent that from happening. You probably will be though just make sure you all know each others pushing points and respect each others living space.
Bikes do get stolen. I don't know anyone whose bike was stolen but it does happen. Make sure your bike is registered with the MSUPD and has a lock on it at ALL times when you're not on it.
The food.........I mean...ok lol Here's the thing, there are a lot of options of where to eat and what to eat. Like any place though, there will be things that you don't like. There is always a salad bar and bread for peanut butter and jelly. There is always a sandwich line. There are Soup options. Some places are way better then others to eat. Akers has a Sparty Cafe inside and it's the only dorm that does. You can get chicken tenders, burgers, fries, stuff like that for a combo xchange. Snyder-Philips has a grill so they make fresh burgers, chicken sandwiches and such like that all the time. Brody has like 10 different lines from Sushi to Homestyle that you can choose from. Like I said the food isn't always great but you can always find somewhere to eat. The international center has a pizza joint, subway, panda express and a Mediterranean grill. So the food thing is kind of as good or as bad as you make it. Of course, if you don't feel like eating on campus, you can order delivery. Lots of places stay open past midnight around East Lansing for us insomnia college students lol
I hope I helped! Welcome to MSU! GO GREEN!

I totally just asked you a question a while back but I'm super nervous about college. Okay so as you know I got placed in west circle which is cool but I was wondering what are the chances of me being placed in yakely lol? Like I've noticed a lot of girls were placed in west circle so do they normally just put freshmen in yakely? aha thanks again for answering my questions:)
Hi Again!
It is totally ok :) This is why I'm here. Here's the thing, I have no idea how likely it is that you will be in Yakely. The only reason why is because it's almost just as likely that you'll be placed in the other dorms in West Circle. The only difference is that Yakely is all girls I believe so therefore it would end up being more room for females. I know a few freshman that ended up in Yakely. I was in Campbell when I moved in and there were a lot of freshman/transfer students on my floor. So I think it just kind of depends on the luck of the draw. I do like Yakely though. You can make smoothies.
Also I saw you're following my other blog...I love you! We will definitely hang when fall comes around.
Hope you feel less worried/nervous!
