You were wondering what the gifset was from… here it is :D
11:00 pm
She stepped out into the corridor and caught the weird looks from people. She sighed, and ducked into the nearest bathroom to see what the hell was so funny.
Nothing. Nothing she could see.
She pulled her datapad out of her pocket and called Wade. He could be trust for absolute honesty sometimes. "Wade, what is wrong with me?" she asked somewhat unwisely when his masked face swam onto the screen.
"Well, you weren't hugged enough as a child, but then who among us was?"
"Wade."
"Nothing. You look fine. I wouldn't have pegged you as the sort o celebrate Easter, but I like the bowtie especially. Please tell me the rest of the outfit matches what I can see."
"What?"
"Let me see!." Knowing this was probably a bad idea, she panned the camera over herself, wondering what the hell he was talking about. She had her uniform zipped up to her throat and there was no bow tie.
"What does it look like?"
There was a pause, and the sound of someone clearing their throat with difficulty. "You're the best damn Easter Bunny ever. I'll be in my bunk." He disconnected the call, and she sighed heavily.
She stepped out of the bathroom and nearly collided with Captains Rogers. "Captain."
"Commander Hill? Is that you?"
"Yes, it's me. Please don't tell me you like the bowtie."
He looked at her quizzically and shook his head. "There's no bowtie. But I didn't recognize you inder the mask. I didn't think they made masks like that any more. Scares the kids nowadays, but I was always fond of them." He smiled easily and stepped aside. "Have fun, ma'am. I won't tell anyone it's you."
"..." she couldn't respond as he wandered off down the corridor, whistling what sounded like Irving Berlin's song 'Easter Parade.'
She held out a detaining hand to catch the agent that was trying desperately to slide by unnoticed and fixed him with a glare. "What am I wearing?"
"Christ, don't hurt me. I swear to God I never stole those eggs like my sister said." She let him go and watched him in fascination as he crab-walked away, staring at her in abject terror.
"Huh." She headed back to her quarters and hoped no one else had the same thoughts about her as Wade. It seemed to be dependent on such things. But she caught Stark staring at her, jaw slack and coffee mug dribbling the last of its caffeinated cargo onto the floor.
Never in a million years, Stark. And just to piss him off, she sashayed away.
09:00 pm
She'd played Kingdom Hearts, she knew a keyblade when she saw one. And the small, skeleton key-sized object that appeared on her coffee table was definitely a keyblade.
Well then, she thought as she reached to pick it up, and watched it become a full-sized blade in her hand. Isn't this interesting.
The ring on her finger pulsed with the purity of the blade, and she knew this was her moment. Bracing for the pain, she stripped the Red Lantern ring from her hand and dropped it to the tiles, focusing on rescuing the Heartless.
She could only Hope this worked.
She fell unconscious, but since she woke up almost and hour later, she figured it had worked.
The ring was gone, in any case. But then, so was the keyblade...
.......................
In the darkness, the Ring waited. It had never had a challenge such as this, and Atrocitus would be pleased. The other atrifact had destroyed itself to remove the Ring, but the Ring was a thing of pure Emotion, and just as Maria Hill would never quell the Rage inside her, so too would the Ring never fully be destroyed.
She was indeed worthy.
