You know, every now and then someone asks either out of curiosity or in a Meme: Why did you join Tumblr? My response is always the same, I wanted to reblog and flail about fic, use gifs to respond to things that words won’t express, and to be able to get to know the people whose blogs I had been following as a Nonny, and have them know ME.
It says much that I saved these screen shots over the years (these are from July 2012), but @substantialityou, the beautiful and savagely smart Lira, engaged with me in a way that, as an Anon, was both WONDERFUL and frustrating because character limits and limitations of Asks. But this little exchange was a tipping point for me, because @the-cimmerians, a person who I adored for her flails over Colfer et alia, advice and intersectionality rants on her blog, and for her deliriously beautiful fics was there, so close and ENJOYING MY WORDS and I was... a Nonny and could not interact. My fears held me out until December, but it was this moment that I think decided in my head that I wanted to be able to put myself behind my words and TALK to people.
So this is my birthday thank you to Cimms. She who loved Kinn, Colfer, Klaine, and **clutches my pearls** is now tumbling down the MCU rabbit hole with the rest of us. May we all be here to flail together for years to come.
