Fanbinding: Hold the Line by @dontbefanci

I've been dreaming this bind up for a good while. Hold the Line is a wonderful AU of Glee where everyone is in marching band instead of show choir. It's senior year, and Kurt is poised to be lead trumpet until new kid Blaine shows up to threaten his reign. The band plays a Queen medley in the fic, with big plot beats centered on the trumpet solo from The Show Must Go On, so of course I had to track down a pdf of the sheet music to use for endpapers!

I had fun figuring out how to format rudimentary text message chains for my first typeset in Affinity.

hey guys thanks so much for finding the fic where kurt and blaine were fighting! rainjoy's unscripted verse is a constant joy...for the anon who wanted aesthetically pleasing fics - Rome and France by knittywriter, Your Best Friend, Blaine Anderson by stut_ter, Angel in a Red Vest by dontbefancy and Letter to a G.I. by Dyrnekeeper are also very beautiful, viscerally written stories. at least that is my interpretation of aesthetically pleasing. thanks again for all you guys do! 💜

Ohhhh god, I feel you. I buy more and more online every year and largely for this reason. Fossil has lost more business from me (and LORD would they get a ton) also bc of this sort of BS retail behavior. I finally got to the point that I’d not only leave, but I’d find the manager and tell them why I was leaving.

When I worked at the bookshop, I was so keenly aware of this. I would greet everyone who came in, ask if they were looking for anything in particular, and if they didn’t need my assistance, I would simply tell them to come find me if they had any questions. A shop clerk following me around after I have declined their assistance creeps me out and is a surefire way of chasing me and my money out the door. It’s hard to complain when the clerk in question is the co-owner. I lack the steely nerve to look someone in the eyes and say, “You lost business today because you would not leave me alone to shop in peace.”. Also she scares me a little. The lady is freaking INTENSE. I’ve been shopping in farmer’s markets and craft stalls for so long now I have forgotten how to handle retail bs.
