SUBTLE GAYNESS
Day 1 of testing the waters of how accepting my mother is towards the LGBTQ+ community: I’ve found a good way to test the waters so I can get a sense of when I feel safe to come out. I don’t think it’d end well if I talked about politics or anything that could get argumentative. Instead, I was talking about greek mythology. I was telling her about Narcissus. About the men and women who fell in love with him, with a bit of emphases on the guy he not so subtly told to go end his misery (lol).
I think next I’m going to tell more direct stories, like about Apollo. All those poor men and women he dated, they all turned into flowers.
The idea here is to sort of get her used to the idea of two same sex people being in love?
We’ll see how it goes from there. I plan to do this over years, because I don’t want to come out by saying “I DON’T FUCKING KNOW BUT I LIKE TITS WITHOUT WANTING MY OWN”.
Yeah
Just wanted to share that, I thought it was a good idea for those of us who maybe can’t directly talk about supporting the community :)
Blessed be
