Air Less Traveled is a steampunk podcast set in a historically revisioned, mid-1800s America. In the beginning, it follows a Byron Crawford - the son of a local mayor - as he goes about his day: and he is the typical, spoiled rich kid you would expect. However, things take a turn when an all-female pirate crew - lead by Nettie Atkins - kidnaps him for a ransom. If you are at all interested in auditioning, information to do so is under the cut.
Before going into the auditions, I would like to set forth a few rules for anyone who is thinking of auditioning.
Firstly, you must have a decent-quality microphone, or be able to get hold of one soon as possible.
You have to respectful of LGBTQ individuals, as both creators of this podcast are within the community - respectively, transgender and non-binary.
When you record your lines, you must send them all, mp3 or wav format, in one email to [email protected]
Please wait at least two days before you start messaging about how we haven’t replied to emails.
In your email, please include your age, gender, and race! We are trying to make this project as inclusive as possible, and would prefer to cast individuals with the same backgrounds as the characters.
If we do come to a point where we need to alleviate some of the restrictions on characters, we will make a separate post to discuss it.
Lastly, please do not request to audition for characters in our ask box! Our email is stated prior for a reason.
If you can adhere to these rules, then a full character list and lines can be found here.
Hello! It is Kristopher once again to say that Aster Podcasting Network needs your help again! As of right now, we only have two scriptwriters - the creators - and with our increasing podcast quota, it is getting difficult to work on all of these projects equally. Therefore, we are seeking out anyone who is sufficient in writing scripts to help us! This job would, unfortunately, not be a paid gig, though we are hoping to change that as soon as we can. If you are interested, look under the cut for more information!
Before applying, we need to make sure you can adhere to the following rules:
You must be accepting of LGBTQ and neurodivergent individuals. Both creators fall into those categories, as do multiple voice actors and characters you will be writing for!
You must be able to adhere to deadlines. These will be negotiated prior, but you must be able to meet the deadline agreed upon.
If you can adhere to both of the prior requirements, please shoot an email to [email protected].
Other things that may be helpful for you:
A sample of your writing,
A professional email, not just ‘yeah i’m applying, here you go’
However, no resumes or anything of that sort are necessary!
I’m looking forward to receiving your applications!
Because of the current lack of interest, and of voice actors, we are putting a hold on the production of Mystery Heads and Suburbia is Hell in favor of our more popular projects.
Suburbia is hell for a lesbian (a small polite lament) *Cue Jimmy Rodgers-esque music*
My suburb is a special kind of hell for I, a lesbian. It looks calm, pristine...But it's a mask...Underneath is a lack of many lesbian/queer books of choice in the libraries...A pathetic LGBTQ center that do not even offer something for adults, unless they are non-binary, if I recall well...In which you can't just come in and sit around...Or look through the window (I kid you not, it really happened to me). And so...Each day...I hope I don't get stuck in it for eons on end...But my messy room still has to be cleaned...And soon, I will work in this town...I need money...I guess the only bright side is that with money, I can escape reasonably more to the neighbouring city in which there is a queer village and much better libraries...Yoodle-ey-ii-oo-yoodle-ey-i-ey, yoodle-ey-iii...
