7-43 A-C, or the “Meat Grinder”

I have finished my second day on this War Prison, and taken ample sampling of all prisoners and guards, including the famous members of the “Blood-Drinkers”. The Warden, the leader of said “Blood-Drinkers”, Lieutenant Colonel Katherine “Katie” Vlad-Heusen was quite cooperative, especially when I requested my rations be adjusted, as I found that the menu among the guards was high in meat and low in vegetables, and while she was kind in more properly balancing my diet (as my religion of Islam requires I eat meat and Vegetables equally). I have concluded my beginning tests beginning with the inmates. I will conclude my tests in full tomorrow.

I have observed an anomaly among the guards, they’re white blood-cells contain black specs, but move normally. I shall conduct further research tomorrow.

The Human guards have increased their intake of meat, with very little intake of vegetables, although they have also kept a healthy intake of grain in the form of white breads. I have observed the Warden, has reddened eyes, and has had trouble sleeping.

I have observed strange black cells within the blood samples. I have also seen the white cells have lessened in number, and the black cells seem to be alive, while the other cells have died from lack of nutrition.

The black specs have grown, I am conducting an interview with Savi Brug, a former guard of the prison when it was a POW camp. This interview will be off record.

I have learned of something terrible. The first casualty, or I should say victim of the liberation of the Meat Grinder, was Solga Sho, a member of the Silfata. The Silfata, developed a way of protecting themselves from predators. In the same way our own cells inducted organisms to work as organelles, the Silfata have adopted a parasite now latent in their cells, which was taken in from one of their water sources, that attacks the DNA of any non-Silfata if through blood contact or consuming of Silfata. This has made predators avoid them, and I learned that Sho was bitten to death, quickly dying of shock. I learned that many Silfata were stationed here, to attempt to control the humans, many were bitten to death, and the former prisoners (our blood drinkers) have remained here as guards. Savi has informed me that several prisoners have gone missing.

I have witnessed something terrible. I saw two guards take the last prisoner from the line away, and butcher him outside. I saw the guards partake in butchering and eating his flesh raw, and the warden herself partake in ripping the poor fellow’s throat out with her teeth. I will be attempting to liberate any soldiers I know I can and give them weapons. I still have my Shamshir from my days as a footsoldier and I am requesting in this coded message, a battalion of human swordsmen. Biosealed armor is necessary. Rubber bio-mail with heavy plating, DO NOT allow any unpatched suits, any blood from the Blood-Drinkers holds latent eggs.

The comms come on with a fizz, and a middle-eastern human with a makeshift bio-suit and mask appears onto the screen. Two aliens are behind him armed with a sword and a pipe, while banging is heard on the door.
“COMMAND, I HAVE SEALED MY SELF AND THREE PRISONERS INTO MY OFFICE, BLOOD-DRINKERS ARE ATTEMPTING TO BREACH IN BUT THE REGULATIONS HAVE LUCKILY PREVENTED THE KEEPING OF BREACHING LAZERS ON STATION. We lost two of the five I broke out and the prisoners have so far become livestock, some were killed in the recreation yard. The parasite is a dozen times worse than rabies, it has mutated the blood-drinkers and changed their physiology. Their teeth are now sharp, but luckily the latent Silfata DNA has caused them to go into shock when the throat is slit or at the loss of a limb, this has aided us in felling at least ten, but there are still fifty, and they have retained their intelligence. They have become sociopathic, and I fear they may break in soon. Send soldiers immediately!”

The soldiers arrived perfectly to my specification, in fact many were android prototypes, but it was pure luck the blood drinkers had not left the planet. Few prisoners survived, and the remaining were beginning to mutate under the parasite from blood contact. I have found that I was the only one to be uninfected, under examination by the oncoming medics. I suggest immediate action to create a cure, to eradicate the parasite both in the waters and in Silfata. We mustn’t allow it to leave the Silfata home world and we cannot allow it to be used militarily. The blood is being burned away with flamethrowers and the bodies are being burned as well. I pray the Galactic assembly hears my request and acts, for I feel Allah spared me for this task…
… We cannot allow a second Coronavirus.
