Q: Can you tell us more about your backgrounds, admins? RP experience, particularly with Family RPs and what your vision of this was when you started (outside of the plot provided of course).
A: Going to break this up into two parts for y’all.
Nicole: I’ve been role playing since I was ten, maybe eleven. I’m almost twenty, so it’s been a while. I’ve been in a few family groups, but I usually stick with regular Glee groups, just because the players are typically more active and people can’t make the characters themselves. But I love OC/family groups because you’re able to make the character whoever you want to be, so I guess that’s a bit contradicting. Hopefully you all understand what I’m trying to say.
We’ve been talking about this so long that it’s hard to recall what the original vision was, but we mostly want to see a group of players who aren’t afraid to cross the line. We want to see drama, we want you to push buttons, to go to the extreme, and a lot of other people don’t want that in their group. Where’s the fun if there isn’t a good amount of drama? That’s what keeps it interesting. No one is happy all the time, and that’s realistic. I’m going off topic a bit, so I’ll just end it here.
Mo: Same as Nicole, I started role playing a good while back. I was probably nine or ten when I joined my first roleplay, and I’m turning eighteen next month, so I’d consider myself a veteran by some standards. I started off in forums and eventually graduated into Tumblr role playing. I’m typically someone that feels the most comfortable in Glee groups purely out of familiarity and I’ve been in my fair share of OC/family groups. There’s a lot more freedom in being able to build your own characters in a universe that you understand with pre-existing characters you can fathom and relate to.
To put it shortly, we wanted to create an environment where people could feel free to start a fire or two. Taking risks is fun and creating drama is what keeps things like this interesting! Bear in mind, we don’t want things to get ridiculous, but at the heart of it all, we want you guys to feel free to grow and expand and plot with your characters in a way that fits your vision.
