The Subway Crew working together with technical stuff on a train? Like- Maybe they had to fix something on the spot, and the problem was time-sensitive?
A Subway Bois ask... thank you anon. I hope you enjoy!
There was a train that had to run at the exact same time, on the exact same schedule every day. One of the passengers on that train got really upset if it wasn’t there for him on time. He was the kind of man who didn’t like waiting and since he kind of controlled Ingo and Emmett’s paychecks? They had no choice but to adhere.
So when the train broke down? Fantastic. Not really. Ingo was the one to notice it, his brother was chattering with their friend. The slightly-older twin got their attention and they were headed down the line as quickly as possible.
Ingo was also the one with the technical know-how, thanks in massive part to one of the engineers working for them. He’d have called on her to work on it, but given that they only had half an hour to get it fixed, there wasn’t time for her to finish what she was going and get down there. Which left it to the bosses. And Cilan, he knew a surprising amount about the inner workings of their trains.
Now, they could do a quick fix that would get it done, but that was more dangerous; if it derailed or broke down after their fix, they’d be blamed. And with this passenger on it, that could very likely mean their jobs. So Emmett was left holding the light, while Cilan and Ingo were getting covered in gunk trying to root out the source of the problem. And fix it, once they found it. Cilan waved Emmett closer with the light, to shine it directly into where the problem was. And that worked, for a minute.
Then it became clear that Ingo had to get in there. Which meant he needed the light himself. There was a wire that had split and needed to be reconnected. While Ingo crawled in, Emmett radioed the employees back in the ATO control room, telling them to send a different train to take over for this one’s schedule. This one had to go to Anville Town for repairs they wouldn’t do. But Ingo could at least fix it enough to get it there. And he did! They’d just have to get it there manually.
There was a complaint from the VIP passenger. He was upset that it wasn’t the same train, but at least he understood when they explained the need for repairs. They’d also need to walk the tracks and check for pokemon, it looked like a Joltik had chewed the wires. But first, Ingo needed a shower. Thank Arceus Anville Town had some.
