Celebrate the shining achievements of graduates with these delightful Gold Star Graduation Cookies! The soft and buttery cookies, adorned with edible gold star sprinkles, capture the essence of success and make for a sweet treat at graduation parties.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. Yellow food coloring. Edible gold star sprinkles.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk. Mix the butter and sugar in a different, bigger bowl until they are light and fluffy. The egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract should all be mixed in. Add a few drops of yellow food coloring until the color you want is reached. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. With a spoon, take balls of cookie dough and roll them up. Cover the baking sheet with foil and put them on it. Use the back of a fork to gently press down on each cookie dough ball to make them a little flatter. After the oven is hot, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, press edible gold star sprinkles on top of them. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
