It is a game on the internet with a silly skin based on a dead meme. It literally has no affect on your every day life. You won’t be waking up in cold sweats cursing hi-rez for filling your nightmares with a dog and a colorfully dressed Norse Goddess. Doge won’t climb out of your screen and destroy your hometown with gale force winds. Hi-Rez isn’t forcing you to buy this skin. Nor are they forcing you to deal with it. If it’s THAT big of a deal to hear the voice pack and ability queues, lower your game volume. This is my last post about the matter because I don’t like getting heated up over N O T H I N G

So, following on from the recent... distaste... with certain skin ideas, I thought I’d start an ill-advised meme: reblog this with a terrible skin concept. I’ll start us off: Bunny-sized Chang’e, Chang’e-sized bunny

Is there something wrong with me when half the Internet, including Kotaku, are complaining about how outdated and awful the Such Cold skin is and I’m just a bit miffed that they got the meme’s grammar wrong in places?

So Discourse, Very Grammar

I’m listening to the Such Cold Skadi voice pack and going all linguist on its ass. It’s just a bit.. frustrating? It’s not good doge speak. Take this laugh line for example. “Very funny, such laugh.” That is *awful* dogeing! “Very funny” is actually a grammatical phrase. The better way to phrase this would be “Such funny, very laugh”. It’s more doge.  It’s just a bit upsetting (ssh) because you can’t just fling any old words together and it becomes doge. Like most memes, doge has a specific grammar and set of rules (seriously, if language is your thing, it’s a great article). The point of doge speak is that it is purposefully made up of ungrammatical pairings. It just smacks either of laziness or of someone who actually doesn’t understand memes as well as they think. It may seem petty (and I suppose it is), but if you’re going to use an old meme, you’ve gotta at least do it RIGHT.
