#finally annoyed enough to make a post 😔#listen i like both phm and iron lung #the parallels between them intruiges me a lot #and so does turning it into a crossover. i rarely like crossovers but theres so much interesting stuff you can do with this one #but oh my god is 90% of it just them kissing and having romantic feelings #i say this knowing i draw gracerocky but like. what would simon and grace see in eachother?????? i dont get why its so popular #did people get bored of aroace grace that fast....#can people talk about the potential in the crossover itself rather than just making them pine after eachother for no reason #and STOP PUTTING IT IN THE MAIN TAGGGGGGGS #im tired of itttt :(

Prepare for war'.#At a glance it may seem like my interest in crossing over Disco Elysium and MDZS is based on the surface parallels.#Protagonists with a bad reputation who find themselves waking up in an unknown location?#The alcoholism? The murder mystery? The stoic and yet deeply patient companion?#Easily tied together. A crossover that writes itself.#But that is not what inspires me to draw parellels between these two stories.#It is about the places at the edge of the world riddled with bomb craters and bullet holes - to serve as a reminder of a lost war.#It is about a dream that was worth fighting for being crushed by larger powers who feared losing that power.#They wanted to build something beautiful and hopeful. It almost was. They lined them up in front of the firing line.#Nearly all the dreamers are gone. Yet the dream lives. Small and patient. It was a worthy dream to live and die for.#And it will wait; thousands of nights and thousands of sunrises.#The bombs may rain down at night but there will always be a sunrise tomorrow. You lived. Keep fighting.#Light your match and set the message ablaze: Un jour je serai de retour près de toi.#For the dead and departed who believed in it. For those we loved and lost. For the future we hoped for.#One day; I will return to your side.#Anyways. I am once again begging you to play Disco Elysium. well-trodden path

#ok I know it looks like a big 8 but its supposed to be an infinity symbol #ANYWAYS. pointing out all the symbolism because I love talking about my own art:#so first of all. obviously. the footprints imply that salt and pepper have walked in circles over and over. pepper following salt of course #until she broke off on her own path. but what she cant see is that shes just starting another cycle because magnet is coming into play #salt is looking away from the viewer. she cannot see the complexity going on behind her. she walks as though pepper is still following her #pepper meanwhile is clearly unsure of herself. she doesnt known how to be alone. to lead. she looks off to the side away from the others #at first I wanted her to be looking back at salt but no. shes pursuing her own path now and its difficult & uncomfortable but shes doing it #and of course shes not looking at magnet either. she wants nothing to do with her. instead shes looking off to the side. beyond the cycle #but she cant get out yet #and then theres magnet. choosing to enter the course but in peppers role. she looks happy and welcoming - but her eyes are closed #for all that she wants pepper to like her shes not actually properly paying attention to her #she seems oblivious to peppers animosity. and really her actions point towards a need for attention on HER part #but its implied that shes so used to getting it that she cant even imagine anything else. she doesnt bother to look #because how could reality possibly be different from what she imagines?#theres also some interesting parallels you could draw between her & clover with Assuming Things Will Always Work Out For Them. Pai's tone conveys that he's not interested in what Tim does from now on—whatever it is‚ it won't change anything.#in response‚ Tim brings them back to the beginning‚ using the same words he did before #except this time he's completely serious‚ and more determined than ever.
