a couple fun facts no one asked for about alex hirsch at eccc (2026) 1. He had a little silver fish in his pocket (???) 2. When it was time for him to take a break from autographs and go to lunch he started jumping up and down excitedly. 3. Both he and Kristin Schaal arrived an hour late to the convention. 4. He said that, in a Gravity Falls fight-fighter game, his go to character to play would be Toby Determined (whose final move would consist of him laying on the ground and going "WHYYYYYYY" as a final KO to the other fighter). 5. Said he'd send a video of everyone at the panel screaming/cheering/begging for disney to bring back special edition blacklight Journal 3 to Disney in hopes to convince them to bring it back (doubt it, but we can hope!). 6. When asked directly if Dipper was trans, answered very sweetly that, because Dipper is based off (Alex) himself, no, not inherently. But that Dipper is full of questions that Hirsch had at his age regarding life and navigating gender and self as a child. He said "Dipper belongs to you [the fandom] now," and he's very glad to have created a character that so many in the fandom (especially relating to genderqueer/gender-questioning) can relate to and see themselves in.
