Suchallenge008: Day 2

Pancakes: A Report by Groot Pancakes are very important to the week of Pride. This is for many reasons. Cake is a Terran celebration food and this is a celebration. I think the reason for pride pancakes is so you can have your own prideful celebration for yourself and then show off the empty pan so other Terrans know you got to have a tasty Pride pancakes.

I got my cake from yesterday. Someone already started eating it and left it out over night, but it is still good. I found the pan in a cabinet. Then I put the cake in the pan, making a pancake. I cut the cake in half so that there are two cakes in a pan, or as they say here “Pancakes”.

You should vote for me because everyone else forgot their pans at home.

PRIDE BURGER PANCAKE - ROCKET RACCOON

Rocket honestly doesn’t like traditional pancakes. The syrup gets all in his fur which leads to taking a bath, and he would rather not. It’s pretty annoying. And this event is just as annoying since what do PANCAKES have to do with pride ANYWAYS? What’s the point of this frickin event? Tie dye and now pancakes?! He doesn’t get it but hey, apparently he likes winning SOME points than none. Points. Points. Points. Give the him points.

PRIDE PANCAKE - THE ONE DAY CLINT ACTUALLY TRIED

This was for sure the worst pancake ever made. Clint Barton knew that the second he saw the burnt edges and even more so when he tried to flip the thing over. Oh man, couldn’t he just make a scrambled egg instead? Something he was actually prideful of? The burned part tasted horrible and the rest was mushy and tasted like frozen potato. Not even syrup could help it either. Good. Fucking. Grief. There was a reason he never stepped foot in a kitchen unless it was to make coffee. Mmm…. Coffee.

I made Nutella crepes. A tasty delectable treat. As Jean Girard once said “They are the really thin pancakes. It's just a French word for them." I should probably win because in the process of doing this I have yet to kill anyone. Really, the self restrain deserves all of the points. If not, I made little heart shaped ones in honor of pride. Win or lose, I don’t really care.

Decadent Fruit Gluten and Dairy Free Vegan Pancakes 

So first and foremost, these pancakes are actually healthy; which is key. During Pride, you want to look and feel your best. The pancakes are simple, substituting mashed banana and protein powder for flour and the wet ingredients. Made with imitation egg whites and steel cut whole grain oats to form the batter. The chocolate on top is actually a dark chocolate sauce to substitute the maple syrup. And the “caramel” is a peach syrup reduction drizzled atop. Add fresh fruit and a light dusting of protein powder (not powdered sugar). While a treat, they are healthy. I grew up around numerous personal chefs and nutritionists, so while this isn’t an every day thing, they’ll work just fine for today.
