With Finals over and Graduation starting, summer is just around the corner! And, what a way to kick it off with a moodboard, playlist and/or writing prompt? Either the moodboard and playlist is mandatory for activity reasons (but you’re encouraged to do both), but the writing prompt is UTP (though we highly recommend it). Try to have fun with it, it is a vacation, after all.
Summer means a lot to people for different reasons. It’s a break from a stressful school year and stressful people. It’s freedom to do what they want, when they want, and stay up as late as they want without worrying about that 8am class. It’s a time for travel or to kick back in your dorm and finally read a few books you’d been meaning to.
What’s your character’s thoughts on summer? Are they looking forward to it? Are they dreading it?
Most people have playlist for certain moods their in (sad, heartbroken, in love) and others have them for activities (running, boxing, studying). We thought it’d be fun to put together a summer playlist for your character.
This playlist can be filled with upbeat songs that make you want to party the summer away. It can be filled with soothing songs as you use these few months to relax or catch up on some sleep. It’s completely up to you what goes on your playlist, but let’s try to make it fitting for a summer playlist.
You can have between five and ten songs on your playlist. And, for bonus points, you can make a fanmix cover for the back and front. Think of it like a CD and be creative with it. Don’t forget to add the names of the songs on the back as most CDs do!
Remember in primary/elementary school when that one annoying teacher would ask you to write out what you plan on doing with your summer? Maybe it was just something to do the last day of school or maybe it was a report you’d have to turn it beginning of next year. Either way, we all dreaded it.
Today, we at SU are that annoying teacher. We can’t help it, though. We want to know what your character has planned for summer. What they hope on achieving with the time given, or if they plan on going anywhere exotic for a few weeks. Even if they plan on hiding away in one of the campus’ lab, tell us what they want to work on and maybe invent?
We want to know all about it. This task should be between three and six paragraphs. It should be written as if it’s your character telling their teacher. Not ‘Logan plans on doing this, this, and this’. Get into your character’s head, find their voice.
Introducing a new, fun system: Society points! We’ll be tallying up points for each task from here on (hopefully biweekly, maybe even weekly). The winning society gets something a little special. So, show your Greek pride and crush the others by miles!
