Sucker-footed bats
sweat not suction
Sucker-footed bats are members of the genus Myzopoda (meaning sucker foot) which contains two species the Madagascar and Western Sucker-footed bats. they get this name due to the presence of small sucker-like cups on their wrists and ankles which they use to attach themselves to smooth surfaces like leaves. Although these suckers may look like and act like they are using suction to hold on it is actually done through a type of wet adhesion where the bat secrets a type of body fluid on the pads the surface tension of the liquid allows the bat to stick. This form of biological suction cup is also used by other animals like flies an tree frogs.
