“oh, well, thank you. really, it means a lot.” she was taken off guard by the genuine compliment. “i’m very good at ignoring people who want to say otherwise, or trying to start fighting with them, so nothing to worry about there.” of course, most of the people who had a problem with lily took issue with her blood status and had nothing to say about her mind or soul, so maybe it wasn’t quite the same, but regardless, she’d gotten used to the stray rude comments at an early age at hogwarts and was barely bothered by that sort of thing anymore.
