“ i’m tired. beyond tired… i am exhausted from the endless fighting
emotionally intense prompts.
It was insane. Everything was insane. Just a few days ago Chrissy had been at the game and cheering without a care in the world, well, almost without a care in the world. She had her own stuff going on but even that seemed to pale in comparison to what they were all dealing with right now. It hadn’t been all that bad, though, true to form Chrissy had tried to find a silver lining in all of this and her silver lining just so happened to be the friendships she had found in the people around her right this very second.
That was why she needed to step up, be strong for them in their moment of weakness. There was nothing wrong with coming to the end of the line, all of them were exhausted and terrified and they’d pushed well beyond their limits. Maybe that’s why it was so hard to see Robin, who was always so full of life and bright smiles, sitting on the ground with her head practically between her knees. Without hesitation Chrissy crouched beside her and placed a hand tenderly on her shoulder, giving it the lightest of squeezes.
“I know... I know you are, Robin. But I need you right now. I need you to keep on pushing because if you don’t I’m not sure I can do it. Nancy and Steve are out there, so are Eddie and Dustin and we have our part to play.”
Her hands moved to take a hold of Robin’s and despite the tears in her eyes, Chrissy managed a smile. “So what do you say? Think you can give me one last big push?”
