A Holiday Q&A on how to live sweetly with Katy from Sugarlaws!
Katy from New York, started her blog, Sugarlaws, back in 2008 when she was learning how to cook. Today, her wonderful blog has expanded from food to fashion, beauty and lifestyle. See how she "lives sweetly" this holiday season. Psst...Check out those incredible photos of her home, which we are drooling over.
Q: How would you describe your fashion and home's style? We just bought a house in June, so decorating is definitely a work in progress! I wanted a very contemporary feel and lots of quirky pieces that show our personalities. The ground floor of the house is mostly black and white, and upstairs there are pops of color in different rooms. Q: What is your favorite room/space in your home? I spent a ton of time on the living room, picking out amazing canvases for the walls and statement accents for tables and countertops. The biggest thing we did after moving in was put in a pool -- I designed it with the pool company and it turned out amazing!
We also just finished our cozy new television room, where we spend most of our time.
Q:. What is on your holiday wishlist for your home? We're redecorating one of the bedrooms to make it an office, and so I've been keeping an eye out for bold, bright curtains and fun patterned rugs. And lots of lamps! I love making rooms bright and cozy. Q: How do you plan to decorate for the holidays? We only did a tree this year, but next year I want to go all out! I love seeing all the houses with lights in the yards -- that will definitely be us next year. For the tree, I actually used glittery fabric flowers from Michael's that I'd bought to use in our Thanksgiving centerpieces -- they are great as makeshift Christmas decorations too! Q: What is your favorite Crane & Canopy duvet cover? I love bold patterns in bedding, so I love the Noe Plum!
Blond-spiration! I started the process of going blond last week (re: stripping the dark out of my hair and adding highlights) and am completing the process today. Can't wait to see how it turns out! Pics to come :)
P.S. - my hair is much lighter already than the picture at right!

Craziness! My life has been non-stop for the past couple of weeks. I am sorry to all of my twitter followers. I don't mean to be annoying, but I haven't had time to blog so that is my way of letting everyone know what I am up tooooo!
I can honestly say that I have been living my dream as a photographer. Everyday meeting new and amazing people, getting to know them and then photographing them. There are so many opportunities opening up right now so stay tuned with my blog and twitter.
As of right now I can't show you any of the final portraits I am taking at Arrojo. They are top secret until they open the salon on Sept. 7th for a big reveal party. Today will be the last day of shooting until next week, which is both an awesome thing and sad.
It is awesome because as I mentioned, I have been non stop for about a week and a half now. At the same time, even though I am tired I am going to miss getting up and photographing these amazing bloggers everyday.
Today I am photographing Katy Atlas of SugarLaws. (http://katyatlas.com/) She started her blog as a way to share recipes with her friends. She never expected it to grow as much as it has. Katy still shares her recipes, but also writes about fashion.
The second blogger today is Rebecca Alexander. She writes a blog about her life mixed with the fashions that she wears and loves.
I am so excited to hang out with these awesome ladies.
