Sometimes, Kanji thought these recon missions for the Operatives were the pits. More often than not, he was told to hold back in his fighting, and that always bugged him. Why would they want that? Wouldn’t it be better if the fight ended quickly? Shrugging, he pulled out his phone and accessed the app that he’d been gifted after taking this mission, it allowed him to tap into the energies of Shadows and track them down, allowing him to hunt them in their own dimensions, and one of those dimensions was heavy in the Shibuya Underground metro system. When he reported that, all he got was a curt response of “handle this” before the call ended.
That was his kind of thing.
What was not, however, was anything revolving around extrasensory perception, so he had no idea he wasn’t alone down here. He trudged along the tracks, his standby of a steel chair held firmly in his grasp, finding very little of note on the first few levels. Once he’d gotten down far enough that the scenery changed, he quickly found why, after coming up on a young man dressed in a pinstripe newsboy outfit with the most unsettling mask he’d ever seen in his life.
“Kid, the hell’re you doin’ down here alone? That’s fuckin’ dumb!”
