In the Medallium, Watermelnyan's entry states he is afraid of being carved up and served as a snack on a hot day. However, this appears to be the direct opposite in the Yo-kai Watch manga where, not only does he encourage Nate and Jibanyan to smash his watermelon head with a hammer to celebrate summer, but he takes it upon himself to carve up slices for them out of his own head (which does regenerate).

Played around with some #yokaiwatch fan art today. Suikanyan because it's the only yo-kai medal I have so far. I can't wait to collect them tho. I got a yo-kai medal that that came with a bunch of manga a friend sent me. I thought it was a shame to have a yo-kai medal without a yo-kai watch to put it in so I made my own out of what I had laying around. The strap is made of a slap band I got at CTN painted with acrylic paint. The watch part (in which the medal slides in) is a cut-up bottle cap from a jug of water. I made the face with paper and ballpoint pen instead of paint because I was worried the medal might scrape the paint off. I based the face on the logo rather than the actual watch because I liked the way it looked. The quarter is there for size comparison.
